Breakfast was satisfactory.
Smoking hotel!!
We were put in what smelled like the “smoking section” in this hotel!!
Our room was unacceptable!!
Smelly, dirty carpets.
We arrived at 3 am.
Exhausted, but could not sleep due to the foul odour, had the window open did not help.
The reception desk employee was not approachable, I waited till after breakfast to speak to the daytime manager.
We should not be charged for this horrible experience.

The hotel was perfect as it hosted the conference I was attending. It was only two stops on the metro from a huge shopping mall with lots of food choices and only 40mins from the Bund for sightseeing.

Gym equipments was lover quality, male sauna needs refurbished, room size was great and conformable but needs some bit of paints on some areas. We stayed at 9th floor and sometimes smell of smoking in between rooms. AC working but needs clean up or upgrade. We were satisfied with stay, probably return again if good price.

Hotel Restaurant not as good as it use to be.
The stuff is horrible at the front desk ( I paid for 3 adults and they gave me a hard time checking in to the hotel. They wouldn’t give a room that have 3 beds. They kept insisting to purchase an extra room. After hour la of negotiations… they gave a room that have only 2 beds. This hotel is a big NON NO For anyone that want 3. Beds.
Over all I will never come back to this hotel.
The room and the beds was clean and comfortable, the bathroom very clean and spacious. Wifi was good enugh for streaming.
The check in was already difficult as the reception staff could hardly speak any English!Wanted to check in to our club floor rooms and the staff did not even know "Club Floor" or "Club Lounge".
The Club lounge was a pity. Nicely equipped but the foods offered were super limited and terrible in taste. Every time you came to the buffet the wine bottles were empty or no wine glasses available or the beer bottles were not replenished. The non-alcoholic drinks were very limited. The coffee machine was often switched off, so no coffee for 10 minutes to warm up the machine, or it was defective, not even hot water to pour!!
The lounge staff did not speak any English at all!!! Totally no knowledge about anything and mostly busy watching movies on their mobile phones ... They did not bother about the buffet or cleaning up the tables, so the whole picture was ugly and neglected. This is definitely NOT worthy for a reputable hotel of the CROWNE PLAZA International chain of hotels!!!
In the first night we found the aircon not working. The room temperature was at 27 degrees C and after complaining the reception told us that they send an engineer to help, however nobody ever showed up. After second calling after an hour we were told that they wanted to fix it in the control room. Only at 5 a.m. the temperature started to go down.
In general the reception staff and concierge had no clue about any questions asked, whether about deliveries to the hotel or transportation, or orientation on the map of Shanghai.
We are very frequent customers of CRONE PLAZA, but this experience is NOT ACCEPTABLE AT ALL. So far no reaction form the management, which kept entirely invisible.
The best part of our stay was calling a cab to the airport to leave for good! Very sad!!! Sure we would never come back there.

Second black point is why visa internal gold is not working
