It was a horrible day. I’d rather stay at Holiday Inn.

been staying at Motel 6 Barstow and Ventura since 3/11/25 must of spent 20+k and every time I have to haggle to find a good rate via direct to Motel 6 or Booking.com You would think Motel 6 would offer better incentives, now that I have my SSDI I am looking for fulltime residence. Some Motel 6 were disgusting, for example Bartsow on Yucca and Main St cockroach filled and dirty, on Lenwood, was GREAT! Now in Ventura, more concern over making money than have me stay longer and you will make more money of me. Stop making your large revenue clients like 1 timers

Worst Hotel experience of my life.

Filthy property inside and out. Roached inside, dog and human fecies in the parking lot. Stopped serving coffee after 10am. Would not give me one cup at 10:30 during a 3 night, $400 stay! Blonde lady at front desk locked me out of my room at 10:30 am on checkout day with my dog inside the room! She refused to give me her name. Man screaming in the parking all night. Loud noice above my room all night, most likely rats chewing through the walls.

Extremely Disappointing Stay — Misleading, Dirty, and Unsafe
Pros:

Honestly, very little. The close proximity to the music venue was a minor plus, but the misleading beach access and safety issues ruined any positive aspects of the stay. In hindsight, I could have saved myself $200 for one night and just slept in my car, where I probably would have actually gotten some sleep.

Cons:

This property is highly misleading. I booked it thinking it was beachside based on the map, but it is actually separated from the coast by a major highway, and half the parking lot is gated off, completely preventing beach access. The only positive was its proximity to a local music venue, though getting there required crossing the highway.

The room itself was filthy upon arrival—there was literally sand, hair, and debris left in the shower, forcing me to call the front desk to have someone come and clean it.

Furthermore, the walls and windows offer zero soundproofing. I was kept awake at all hours of the night by people partying, talking, and playing music right outside my door. To make matters worse, the heavy smell of cigarettes and drugs from neighboring rooms and the parking lot constantly drifted into my room. With a complete lack of security on the property, the environment felt incredibly sketchy and unsafe.

I will never stay here again. Save your money and go somewhere else—I absolutely do not recommend.
