A wonderful stat!
Pros:

The hotel is right in the heart of the old town, within easy walking distance of the train station, restaurants, and the main attractions.

The host was warm, friendly, and welcoming. The air conditioning worked well, which was especially appreciated during the intense European heatwave, keeping the room cool and comfortable after a day of sightseeing. The bed was very comfortable, ensuring a great night’s sleep. We had a very pleasant stay.

Perfect location. Very clean.
Pros:

Nice hotel right in center of Avignon. Friendly staff and comfortable.

Cons:

Room was quite small but it worked fine. It has no elevators so you need to be aware that you carry your luggage up a small curved stairway. This wasn’t a problem for us but could be for others.

Very professional. Great breakfast and location
Pros:

The owners manning front desk were very helpful and fully understand the needs of a Coeliac re breakfast which had great variety. Location was fantastic. No lift so ask for ground floor if needed.

Disappointing hotel

Bedroom very dingy and dull, frosted glass on window looking out to internal wall. Felt claustrophobic! Step on entrance to bedroom was dangerous even though sign on door to remind you!
Breakfast area was tight & small. Not great selection. Had to remind staff to replenish supplies. Very little cutlery provided .

Superb location
Pros:

Great location, can walk from the station and to restaurants and shops. We loved that we had air-conditioning, given the heatwave. Our room was comfortable and decorated nicely. Overall, a very good experience. Emmanuel was very welcoming, and a cheerful host. Thanks also for accommodating my dietary needs for breakfast.

You need to be a ultra marathon trainer to climb the stairs.
Pros:

Beautiful suite.

Cons:

Avignon is an old city, getting around by car is impossible. We needed to park 500 -700 mtrs away and drag our luggage over broken twisted cobblestones, that was the easy part.
Finding the hotel by GPS maps made us do laps and laps until you stumble across the entrance to the hotel.
If you book a suite it is on the top floor, No assistance from staff, No elevator, just a spiralling staircase wide enough for only one, it takes you ten minutes and a near heart attack to get your luggage upstairs.
If all that doesn’t make you reconsider this place, you are fitter than me.
Do your self a favour and stay at the Mercury, lift to your room and street level.

We would definitely stay again but probably go elsewhere for breakfast.
Pros:

Lovely staff, location and room.

Cons:

We were a bit disappointed with the breakfast as we’d advised that we would take it. We got there at 8.45 and only one of us got a pastry - I asked if there was another and was told all had gone. There was bread but tiny pieces and not replenished unless we asked. The orange juice was topped up - again when we asked - but only a small amount. Plenty of cakes but when we’re in France we like a croissant and bread not cakes.
