Five-star hotel, nightclub-level noise, no sleep and disappointing management response.
Pros:

Spacious and comfortable rooms, and a very good massage at the spa. The property itself has a lot of potential.

Cons:

The hotel hosted an extremely loud party in its ballroom on Tuesday night, 20 October, continuing into the early hours of Wednesday morning.

I was woken at approximately 1:30 AM by such heavy bass that my room on the third floor was physically vibrating. The noise became progressively louder, to the point where even the singers could be heard clearly. Sleeping was impossible, and the concierge was not answering my calls.

I had to leave at 5 AM to catch an early train, having been deprived of almost the entire second night’s sleep.

What disappoints me most is how management handled the complaint. They repeatedly acknowledged in writing that the hotel’s own event had seriously disturbed my rest and that the experience fell short of their standards. Nevertheless, they refused to refund the affected night, offering only a discounted future booking and dinner.

I find it astonishing that a five-star hotel would organise an event of this intensity without adequately protecting its paying overnight guests, and then refuse reasonable financial compensation.

A beautiful hotel is of little use if you cannot sleep in it.

I will definitely recommend
Pros:

Amazing and clean
Staff was so helpful from doorkeeper to everyone in the restaurant, reception, concierge. Hotel location was so easy to reach and all key areas were accessible and near to new market.

Pros:

Great staff
Good food.
Great location. Comfortable stay. For me it's a home away from home.

Cons:

Sometimes service is slow. Specially during the breakfast lunch and dinner. Alot of confusion . Otherwise over all a great place to stay.

Good place to stay in the middle of the city
Pros:

The location was good, in the main area, accessible easily. The breakfast was good taste, room size was appropriate. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is not so big therefore, easy to get to the room and reach lobby quickly.

Cons:

The prices of the Lunch & Dinner was rather too high comparing to the menu and quality & varieties of the food.

Bug structure but low maintenance rooms are too dusty with micro particles

Room was so full of dust that i had allergies due to excessive dust . Unfortunately it was a very big mistake never staying again here

Pros:

The location of the property is so centred to work here and there of old Kolkata city. Which is so comfortable to complete planned works on time.

A short trip to Kolkata
Pros:

The location and the staff are very good. Also the staff in restaurant especially Deepak and his team was great

Cons:

The rooms were very old and not to the mark of other Lalit in India and also the guest amenities provided was not of standard.
