Cleanliness, hospitality, food choices and room equipment
Had a comfortable stay at the Old Oak Tree. Had an evening meal and breakfast there, both of which were excellent. Staff were great and very friendly. Room was a good size, it was a little hot due to the weather but air conditioning was available. Would stay again.
Lovely modern rooms in a separate block from the pub. Excellent food. Plenty of parking. Decent selection of ales
Restaurant was well used by locals.
20 minute walk into Thirsk
Nice big garden
Camper vans by arrangement too
Sound proofing could have been better
Thank you for providing vegan options
This is a popular pub, with very good cooking, in an attractive village. It is family run and as a result the staff are excellent - just right! The room was spacious and had everything we needed. Everything worked, the check-in and check-out arrangements were practical and, in short, we would be happy to return.
Nothing to report here.
Everything, the room, the staff, the breakfast was a lovely choice and we ate there both evenings with there being a lovely menu and the meal's were lovely.
We also walked into thirsk which saved taking the car out.
Absolutely nothing to not like.
Great location. Easy to get to thirsk town. 25 min walk or 5 min in car.
Lovely seating area outside. And lovely stream at bottom of pub u can walk to thirsk by. Lovely breakfast and staff. Easy parking. Great choices for lunch and dinner.

Top class accommodation and the food in the pub was amazing.
Couldn't fault a thing.
We look forward to returning .

Very clean good location & friendly staff
Amenity of room, service from staff and proximity to our event, option for air conditioning in hot weather, breakfast
The only downside was a smell coming from the shower room drain
Lots to like here. Staff friendliness, quality of food, condition of room, size of room. Location was very good, on the main road, but could barely hear the traffic noise. There was alsoa a lovely walk alongside the river at the bottom of the garden.
As a pub, I expected it to be open before 5pm. A weary traveller would be disappointed if they were wanting a drink upon arrival. What really got my goat was being charged an extra £5 for air conditioning. On a day of 30+ degrees, you simply cannot sleep in a room without AC, especially in a room with one window. If you left the window open, you would be kept awake by pub leavers and traffic. Felt really sneaky to have that extra charge. But the AC was very effective!
Good location, fabulous food and great staff
Bed was a bit lumpy and hard for me, unfortunately. For that reason, I would not stay again until the mattress was replaced or a topper added.
Clean and comfortable. Lovely pub. Food excellent. Breakfast was cooked and served by a lovely lady called Nette. One of the best breakfasts I’ve had in a long time. Really nice garden. Can highly recommend this pub for staying in and eating.
Nothing to dislike about this pub.
Good location food and accommodation were excellent
The staff were friendly and helpful
The accommodation is not in the main building but is set in an annexe next to the main road and adjacent to the car park
Really excellent accommodation and extensive menu options in restaurant
