Property Description

Located in the heart of Wine Country in the center of the sophisticated town of Yountville, the Napa Valley Railway Inn provides the perfect Napa Valley getaway. 125- year old train cars that have been converted into beautifully appointed suites complete with complimentary WiFi, flat screen TV's, inviting luxurious linens, and refrigerators for that just purchased bottle of chardonnay. Walking distance to 5 of Thomas Keller's restaurants including The French Laundry and his latest La Calenda as well as Michael Chiarello's Bottega and the Altamura Families Ciccio's. Comfortable, contemporary, and convenient, guests can relax outside their room in the evening on our patio with a glass of wine. Then again in the morning to early afternoon while enjoying a specialty coffee, fresh pasty, or a gourmet breakfast sandwich from our Mini Model Bakery and Cafe located in one of our Cabooses. Outside your doorstep stroll to any of the 10+ wine tasting rooms, boutique shops, world class restaurants, or spa treatments. Hotel guest rooms consist of one two-bedroom suite and seven steam-era railcars. Each of the guest cars offers a few hints of their former function: you'd never guess that No. 4 used to carry cattle or that the skylights in railcar No. 9 was once a hatch for ice deliveries. If you have ever dreamed of sleeping in a caboose The Napa Valley Railway Inn has one of those as well. Reservations can be made online which is the easiest and and most convenient way. Night in a caboose

Its a don't check-in in person. You receive a text when the unique experience. We stayed in the caboose. It big enough, quiet, and nicely furnished. The bed was very comfortable with nice linens. Everything was very clean. Also, the location is great!
Note: you do not check-in in person. You receive a text when your railcar is ready, with a code to open the door and a phone # if you need assistance. As we had no problems, we found this to be very easy.

Great location. Cozy room with enough space for us and our portable crib. Unique idea of the rail cars as room. Would definitely stay here again. Walking distance to great restaurants. If you are a light sleeper you might hear the hot air balloons being filled and lifted at around 530-6 am. Very cool to look at though!

I liked the nice clean room and bathroom. The a/c in the room was noisy though. Within easy walking distance to many restaurants and nice area to take a stroll outside.

Very well placed quaint hotel in the heart of Yountville. The train car rooms are authentic and cosy. We saw hot air balloons being filled and flown away early in the morning from the carpark near the hotel!
