The breakfast selection was great and replenished constantly. Well worth the money to include it.
Very comfy bed, pillows and good shower
We booked a deluxe room and it was tired. The floor scratched and wallpaper peeling.
Also on floor 8, they use the main area as a storage space for the laundry. For the money paid, the noise on a morning was not great from about 7:30am.
Breakfast during the week is very early - until 9:30am.
La camera molto comoda, colazione eccezionale
Frühstück
Kleine Zimmerchen, Waschbecken 12 cm breit, ist nicht lustig.
The view from our room wonderful. The staff were all very friendly and extremely helpful. Excellent choice for breakfast with hot and cold choices. Tea and coffee machine in reception. Good location for pick-up spots for daily excursions. Airport transfer bus stop directly opposite hotel. Would definately use this hotel again.
Amazing place to stay, helpful and kind staff, delicious breakfast with variations of choices. The location is close to the city centre and has a wonderful harbour view with a spectacular mountains background. The buses station is just a minute away.
It would be nice to get a room view this exceptional view but I am conscious that not everyone is so lucky. Perhaps next time.
We have just returned from a 4 night stay and absolutely loved our time here.
The view from the window was gorgeous (room 703), the beds were unbelievably comfortable, and the location made exploring so easy. Breakfast had loads of choice, and the sky bar was a real highlight - incredible views of the Northern Lights that felt so magical. Just be careful up there as the floor was very slippy when stepping out the door; we saw a lady take quite a tumble.
If you’re visiting Tromsø, crampons are a must. There are a few heated pavements in the centre, but most streets are icy, and having crampons makes walking around so much safer and far more enjoyable.
The hotel’s environmental efforts were great to see. There were gentle reminders in the room to save water, and a chalkboard explaining everything they’re doing to be more sustainable - a thoughtful touch that really stood out.
There are a couple of very small things that could make the stay even better. Breakfast gets busy, so a longer serving window and quicker table clearing would help. The towel hooks in the room weren’t very secure meaning the towels often ended up on the floor by the toilet and the wet‑room shower overflowed regularly, soaking the whole bathroom floor. Also worth noting: the hotel is cashless everywhere except reception.
Overall, we had a fantastic stay with some unforgettable moments - especially the views from both the room and the sky bar. With a few very small improvements, it would be perfect.
Our second stay here, food choice at breakfast was excellent and we ate in the restaurant one evening which was also excellent.
Breakfast variety was great, location was excellent, all staff members were friendly and helpful. The views from our room were incredible, we loved being able to see across the fjord. Also brilliant for aurora watching so we could head outside to watch!
It would have been good if breakfast was available longer on weekdays. 9:30 to finish breakfast feels early when you have been on a norther lights tour the night before.
A vibrant busy yet relaxed atmosphere. Very clean and comfortable.
The starkness of the corridors but
That is just personal taste.
Fab location and lovely receptionist
No sauna or pool
Myself and my partner have just returned from a 4 night stay at The Edge. I’ll be honest, I was apprehensive having read some previous reviews but our experience from start to finish was super.
The location is fantastic, easy walking distance to bars, restaurants & shops. The tourist office is on the corner & bus station right across the road for all excursions.
Our standard room was perfect and we were lucky to get a sea view. I don’t know if some previous reviewers were looking for suites but there is plenty of storage shelving for clothing and shoes and hangars for clothing. Our room was cleaned daily & towels replaced.
The breakfast selection each morning is plentiful with lots of choice & vast seating. Tables are cleared promptly for other guests as they arrive.
We loved the Sky Bar for a pre-dinner cocktail and were treated to a northern lights show on our last night. It was great to be able to go outside when up there and take some photos.
There was a Conference on during our stay as part of Sami Festival week which was nice to witness with the comings and goings, it didn’t negatively impact our stay at all.
10/10 for our stay, thanks all at The Edge.
Location, rooms
The roof top bar was a total disappointment.
Nobody serving; no atmosphere , even on a Saturday prime time. There is no explanation that one has to fetch the Menue and drinks oneself, so we waited 20 mins for nothing and the staff was rude about it . We left and went to spend our money elsewhere very disappointing for an international hotel.
I stayed at the hotel end of January for 5 nights. The location is good for airport bus and pick ups for booked excursions. Your right on the harbour. The breakfast was really good with fresh fruit included and something for everyone's taste. The hotel provides tea and coffee in reception. During my time there was an artic conference going on, which didn't really affect my stay, however hotel was busy during this time. I had no issues with the cleaning of my room, but the hotel does promote saving the environment for E.G re use your towels. If I had booked this hotel myself I would have requested a room with a view. But my hotel was booked via secret escapes so I ended up on the 3rd floor without a good view 😓. If I came back to Norway I would rebook this hotel due to the location and pick ups for booked excursions it was excellent for returning back late from excursions because I could walk back to my hotel. Please make sure you take crampons and spikes to avoid falls on the ice or snow. I must admit I read the reviews for this hotel and I have to say I had no issues with my stay or booking. Only one issue it was my birthday and I expected a simple note or something from the hotel for acknowledgement, but I didn't get any 😂. Having said that I had an excellent birthday and got to see the northern lights on the Brim explorer evening dinner cruise. I was so lucky to see them during the clouds and snow falls. Thank you.
