It was a really good location
Could probably do with a refresh in some of the rooms but in general everything is great.
The hotel is close to the historical center of Riga and next to the train station which makes it easy to go and visit all the beautiful sites in the center and also to travel either by public transport or train wherever you need to go.
There was an issue with the TV turning on automatically early in the morning without a possibility to turn it off, it was in some automatic mode and the remote was not working. Also the safe in the room was not working probably due to dead baterries + the fridge could not open but I informed the reception about these issues and they took care of it so I can´t complain about the approach of the personel.

The team at reception was professional and welcoming
The room had a problem with the shower tub. After every shower the floor was flooded. Looks like maybe the drain was nearly blocked / clotted in conjunction with a very low profile, tiled tub.
From the mould of the grooves between the floor tiles you could see, that the flooding does happen more often.
The breakfast was nice, but the orange juice was not a real orange juice. More a watery copy of orange juice. It´s taste and consistency reminded me of my stays in youth hostels as a child in the 1970ies/1980ies.
Room hadn't been tidied.
