Ontzettend gehorig! Er zat gewoon een tussendeur in de kamer. Wij hebben gewoon de buurman de hele nacht horen snurken!

Reservation Cancelled Without Notice, Price Gouging, and Unsafe Sleeping Conditions

I booked a stay at Motel 6 Carpinteria South on March 8th through Booking.com for $107 for a room with two queen beds. When we arrived on March 28th, we were told, without any prior notice, that our reservation had been cancelled. Both bookings.com and the hotel blamed the other party for the cancellation. While we were there, another guest arrived and was told the same thing, suggesting this is not an isolated incident.

The hotel was fully booked, but after another guest cancelled, we were allowed to rebook a one-bed room for $245. After a 1.5-hour wait and failed attempts to get help from Booking.com (including being hung up on), we still had to pay $176.53 for a room that did not meet our reservation.

No extra mattress or even cushions were provided, forcing three adult-sized people into one queen bed, which is completely unacceptable and raises serious concerns about basic guest accommodation standards.

I have since attempted to resolve this with Booking.com and have received no response.

At minimum, I expect a refund of the price difference; given the circumstances (including cancellation without notice, extended wait time, and inadequate accommodations), a full refund would be more appropriate.

This experience reflects poor coordination between the property and Booking.com, lack of transparency, and unacceptable treatment of guests. I would strongly caution others against relying on reservations at this property (and through bookings.com) without guaranteed confirmation and clear check-in policies.

Just a nice play to take the dog. Lots of places for him to sniff, etc.
Pros:

I stay there one night monthly to visit grandkids. I bring my little doggie. All went well, but second time this happened that the key was turned off at 10am while I was trying to pack up the car! Had to go to the office to re key.

This has happened before. While I am trying to pack up the car to check out, the key was turned off.

Nice Motel 6 - pets welcome 😎
Pros:

This is the nicest Motel 6 I’ve ever stayed at, requested a courtyard room with a pool in the center, room was clean and quiet and coffee was available in the morning, great location to shops and restaurants 👍
