Beware that this hotel is under renovations. There is nothing on the Hilton site indicating this, nor any mention in the confirmation. The restaurant and store are not open (minimal snacks/drinks available), only one elevator is open to guests during 8am-5pm, and there was never anyone at the front desk.
The room was a good size, and it was quiet. I was able to pick my room in the app, but there was nothing indicating that it was an adjoining room, which I would have preferred to choose a different room. I am glad I did not have to go to the desk to check in our out. When I checked in, there was staff there, but it was total chaos. The room was pretty clean, but there was visible mold spots on the shower wall.
The Irish pub next door was the highlight for me.
Do Not Book this hotel Booked this hotel using points and cash on December 2nd, 2025. No where at anytime before check in were we informed that the hotel was going to be under renovations. The restaurant was closed, the gym was closed. From 8-5PM each day one elevator was not available for guest use causing delays getting to the rooms and out of the hotel. We were awoken multiple days before 8am by construction sounds around us coming from inside the hotel. When complaining to the hotel, they blamed the oversight on corporate Hilton, they never apologized, nor, did they offer any sort of compensation for the issues with the hotel. When confronted about it after checkout, because they didn't even acknowledge the complaints at checkout, the front Desk Manager Delanie said they were working on a compensation offer. And I would receive an email shortly. It has been more than 2 days and still no email. Hilton should be ashamed to have this hotel with their branding. I've been an Honors member for years and have used Hilton properties all over the world and I have never had an issue this big or an issue that wasn't rectified almost immediately. That was not the case here. Because of that, Hilton has lost my brand loyalty. The value is not worth it. The Furniture is worn, the mattresses are horrible and general, because it's a construction site, the hotel is not clean. It feels more like a hostel than a welcoming midtown hotel.
First, the good. Our room was large by NYC standards, the bed comfortable, the "bathroom" well designed with an ample counter for toiletries and a large walk-in shower with good amenities (no actual bath tub). The restaurant was closed, but the hotel offered to go bags with a pretty good selection of snacks: a muffin, bagels with cream cheese, granola bars, fresh fruit, etc. The staff was very helpful and trying its best. The bad is the hotel is under active renovation. It has only two elevators to begin with, and from 8-5 every day one is reserved for construction crews. The result is some very long waits for the elevator, especially during peak check-out times as it fill with not only people but luggage. The crews seem to be ripping out all the drywall, and spring it in teh street until evening. For much of the evening, one hears the creaking of a trash truck compactor as the drywall is loading into the truck. Also, the hotel seems to be popular with partiers, as both Friday and Saturday night groups of young people banged on random doors and talked loudly, looking for their friends.
The location was good. It's a nice and safe spot.
The cleanliness was not there, the trouble with getting an elevator at anytime of the day was a huge pain, a min 20 mins wait each time you need one.
We lost a lot of time just waiting for elevators.
Besides the hotel provided no prior notice about ongoing renovations at the hotel and the noise was all day and all NIGHT long.!!!
Worst is that there was even a leak in the bathroom, and had to change people's room.
I would expect a Hilton to be of higher standard. It was a mediocre hotel, smelly room without any great view of the city. So I don't think I'll go there again!
Bed so comfortable! Elmer, breakfast server, so pleasant. Elevator and handicap room perfect! Location close to the event we were attending.
Some stains on furniture in room.
Location
Worst mattress we ever slept on on in our entire lives.
As Hilton property owners and Gold members, we have a deep appreciation for the brand’s usually outstanding portfolio. We transitioned to the Hilton Garden Inn Midtown after a phenomenal stay at The Quinn, expecting a continuation of that excellence. Instead, we found ourselves in a property that, for the safety of the public, should have been closed.
We spent three nights and four days in what can only be described as an active, hazardous construction site. I take no pleasure in writing a review this critical, but the "unacceptable" conditions we faced demand a warning to others.
The Litany of Failures:
Safety & Environment: Entering the hotel was a physical challenge. Between the overhead cranes, debris, and toxic particulates in the air, we felt our health was at risk. The hotel should have been handing out hard hats at check-in.
Infrastructure: Only one elevator was functional for guests, as the other was dedicated to construction crews. This led to massive delays.
Room Maintenance: Our sink faucet was completely clogged; a plumber eventually had to replace a filter that was visibly filthy. Furthermore, we had no hot water in the shower for the first day.
False Amenities: The "restaurant" and "workout area" were both closed for repairs—details never disclosed to us in advance.
The "Breakfast": The promised breakfast was a joke—a brown paper sack containing processed, unhealthy, store-bought items.
Cleanliness: While the rooms were marginal at best, the lobby cleanliness was abysmal.
Management Response:
I attempted to resolve this with the manager, Delaney. Given the circumstances, I requested a full reimbursement of our points. She would only agree to one night. While in a normal situation that might be generous, for a stay where the basic utility of the room (water) and the safety of the environment were compromised, it is simply unacceptable.
Bottom Line: If a hotel is undergoing renovations this invasive, they have a moral and professional obligation to either close their doors or provide full disclosure to guests before booking. We were denied the right to make an informed decision and were instead charged to stay in a construction zone.
Hilton Corporate needs to look into this property immediately
La ubicacion, podia ir caminando hasta el centro
No hay restaurant, no sirven desayuno
The room was comfortable and clean and the staff was nice.
One of the elevators were out so the options were wait for 20 minutes cram into the elevator with a bunch of other people like sardines in a can or climb 22 flights of stairs to get to our room. And then in the middle of the second night the fire alarm went off for an hour for a false alarm.
Location and facilities
The front desk was not gentil with my son and wife after checkout. They only ask to use the restrooms.
Buena ubicación
Casi Nadia habla español, si llegas de madrugada debes esperar hasta el check in así q debes estar atento de la hora
