Motel 6 West Sacramento, CA

Check in was handled by a remote worker at a kiosk. While I can understand the challenges an owner-operator might face in finding an employee for the night shift, replacing that job with someone speaking to me from a tablet halfway across the globe was a mistake. At least allow customers to attempt to check in with an unmanned tablet first and then escalate if there are issues. Even though the hotel already had all of my registration information from the reservation, I was required to walk through scanning my identification and inputting my credit card with this very slow worker. This really made for a terrible experience. Exterior of hotel is rather shabby. Parking was difficult to secure, as all spaces were occupied by customers or big piles of rubble. Pool is covered in rubble and tarp. Highway noise is very present.

The virtual check-in was a horrible experience. It took over a half an hour.

It could have been a little cleaner, the bed had one or two strands of hair but otherwise it was very clean.

Noisy

I did not like the fact that there was a woman that appeared to be in mania or on drugs, running around screaming. My daughter was too scared to get out of the car. My daughter was so afraid that she wanted to go back home and canceled the whole trip because of this one incident. Motel 6 said they would give me my money back, but never did! They refused to send a simple email to Booking.com letting them know they have authorized the refund. They said they did everything they could do on their part and that I should get my refund and even though I called them five or six times and spoke to them letting them know that Booking.com requires them to either answer me and chat or reply to the email, they refuse to and they said they refuse to put it in writing, therefore I could not get my refund. I had to cancel my whole entire trip bc my daughter had a panic attack because of how scary the location was, and I had to drive back to her home two states away (12 hrs) and my two week trip across country was canceled. So, not only did Motel 6 cost me this stay, it cost me about $1000 because we could not continue our journey and I had pre-booked 10 more hotels and not every hotel would allow me to cancel. Then I had to get a flight back home instead of continue driving cross country…. Horrible customer service and they are liars! Don’t believe that this hotel is nice, it’s very ghetto. I would never stay here if I were you. Pay another 20 or 30 bucks and go somewhere nicer. Home2 Suites was only 20 more bucks and they didn’t charge us a pet fee either! They also had a delicious free breakfast so it was worth it! I wish I would’ve booked them to begin with, but I didn’t that they weren’t going to charge me a fee for the pet.

The location was okay, it wasn't horrible. The bed was pretty uncomfortable but it was better than the floor I guess. It wasn't the worst I've stayed in.

Mostly the location and clientele. I was woken up several times by other people screaming right outside of my room.

The room smelled like weed and cigarette smoke. After being told we couldn’t smoke in the room. Asked for an extra towel and never received it. And the parking was not good . I understand for a cheap and last minute trip. But it was BAD

Honestly, I liked everything about my stay. The Motel 6-West Sacramento provided a wonderful experience, and I was genuinely happy with it. I’m already planning to return soon.

I would have liked to be able to use the pool. Other than that, oh and I feel like there could be better weekly rates for people who work all day and just sleep. We don't use up any power, water, any other amenities , until we come back shower and sleep. I feel it would be better business if the people that pay weekly stay in the studio 6 rooms with all of the other normal people who have to work . That is just my opinion. I think they would get more business like that, but they have to pay for the full week in advance. Not complaining.
