Great beachfront property, great staff, wonderful dining options, 11 out of 10

I've been nostalgic for the charming atmosphere of South Palms, the excessive traffic to the beach is making it feel like a public beach

The good: free water sports like kayaking and paddle boarding. Good service at the bar. The beach is nice. Concierge staff were very courteous. Food was decent.

The bad: they told me they didn’t have space for a single person at the restaurant after checking and that they would call me if they could accommodate. Ridiculous for the price you pay to stay here. There were many open seats but I guess they wanted to save them for groups that probably never ended up coming. They owned the mistake the next day and the manager or whoever I talked to was very courteous in trying to smooth things over. Damage was done though, I felt like I wasn’t valued. The pool was super crowded. The bathroom design was not to my liking, after a shower there was water everywhere. Called a tuktuk from the front desk once and it took 20-25 minutes versus the 5-10 they told me. Maybe they are too busy to ensure good service, but things happen. I don’t think anything was malicious but the restaurant reservation thing put a sour taste in my mouth.

Overall, some good. Some bad. But I wouldn’t stay here again. I paid less for Bohol Beach Club and it was much nicer in every way except for the water sports cost money. The food, rooms, resort, and service was much better there.

We stayed at South Palms, now Oceanica, 8 years ago and enjoyed our stay then and still loved the place. Every staff were friendly and professional and were always willing to assist no matter what it was we needed. Due to the paying public being allowed access during the day, it was busier than normal. However, it wasn’t a deterrent for us enjoying ourselves. The location is amazing with long stretch of white sand beach for everyone to enjoy! Definitely will be returning to this place when we visit Bohol.

Durig my stayed was awesome although i didn't spend much time roaming around due of some places to visit outside. It will be nicer if there will be a buffet dinner as well. Breakfast buffet was fantastic! nothing to ask for ...

Enjoyed staying

Pros:
1. The beach was beautiful and quiet until 5 pm
2. The hotel staff were very kind especially the breakfast crew
3. The restaurant meals had big portions
4. Breakfast options were amazing

Cons:
1. Our hotel room was a bit outdated
2. The cleaning staff did the bare minimum. For ie they forgot to replace used mugs
3. I would have preferred the band to start their show much later, maybe around 7 pm

I like it because it is so peaceful and the only thing I don’t like is we cannot bring food inside the facilities.

I liked the rustic aesthetics of the resort and that it is relatively close to Alona Beach and the airport. The ocean view rooms are very nice, you can walk straight onto the beach and into the water off the porch.
As far as the negatives, not really a big deal, but the main pool is a bit small for the size of the resort. The day pass is very affordable in my opinion and a lot of people take advantage of it so it can get somewhat crowded at times. Also, for a 4.5 star resort, I think the furniture in the rooms should be improved. Great resort overall, would stay there again.

Our stay for 4 Nights and 5 days was Amazing!!! We Loved the Eco Friendly Environmentally Conscious Vibe the Resort Exudes!!! The Resort was Very Well maintained and Clean, Breakfast Buffet was Fabulous, Beachfront was Beautiful, Staff was Attentive and Welcoming!!! Our Deluxe Beachfront room was Comfortable, Clean and Breathtaking Views!!! Almost forgot there Massage

This resort is one of the best resorts I’ve ever been. Amazing staff, amenities, stunning location, farm to table food. I also recommend the ZenSenses spa.

The resort is great but the service is poor. Not a lot of options for food. They’re very slow.

Beautiful resort. Stayed in a beach front room with direct beach access. Had dinner on the back patio facing the ocean. Be aware the beach does have some coral so slightly rocky but water warm and great.
