City Hotel MAX Munich West

Die Anbindung an die öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel war sehr vorteilhaft, ebenso die wenigen Stationen bis zum Hbf. Klimaanlage ist im Sommer sehr angenehm. Das Doppelzimmer als Einzel war sehr bequem, sauber und es hat alles wie föhn, Vergrösserungsspiegel, Produkte etc.
Und es gibt sogar eine Tiefgarage.

Sehr gute Lage.

Die Lage ist super! Ubahn gleich in der Nähe, gute Lokale auch gleich um die Ecke. Nähe der Augenklinik. Sehr freundliches Personal!

Unfortunately, we didn't like anything,
especially that the hotel didn't have the name we booked and we still get messages from it with the same name. We were heartbroken when we found out that the hotel at that address wasn't there and we kept seeing upset customers coming in. It's terrible that no one wrote to us about the name change.

The City Hotel MAX Munich West, formerly the Vienna House hotel, was one of the worst experiences I’ve had in many years of travelling around Europe.

As soon as we arrived, the hotel sign was covered. We entered and asked if we were at the Vienna House hotel, which we had booked through the Booking app. The receptionist immediately said no, that we were at the wrong hotel. I gave my reservation name, and he said there was no booking under my name. In the end, it turned out he was wrong and eventually found the reservation. However, this already gave us a first impression of how the rest of the stay would be.

When we entered the room, I immediately noticed that the carpets were dirty and that there was no minibar or wardrobe. The air conditioning was also not working. In fact, the photos shown on Booking were not really consistent with reality. In other words, the room was a disappointment, but I still tried to overlook it.

At night, I requested two extra pillows. The staff informed me that there were no pillows available.

The next day, when I returned to the hotel, I noticed that the bed linen and towels had not been changed. The bed was completely unmade, the bathroom soap was empty and had not been replaced, and the trash bin in the room had not been emptied.

I called reception to request soap, and they told me I would have to go downstairs to pick it up myself.

I also asked reception for the bed linen to be changed. When I returned the next day, nothing had been done. So I went back to reception, and coincidentally the head of housekeeping was there. I spoke to him and requested proper cleaning of the room. To make things worse, I had killed a small cockroach in the bathroom and left it there to see if they would clean it. To my surprise, the insect remained in the room for another three days.

In addition, I was charged the wrong number of breakfasts. I only had breakfast 8 times, but I was charged for 12.

From what I understand, the hotel is undergoing a change of ownership. However, such a horrible experience is unacceptable in a city like Munich, with many other competitors. I will definitely return to Munich, but never to this hotel again. The staff are completely untrained and disorganized. The hotel has good infrastructure, but it is clear that the management is not making proper use of it.
