A beautiful area to stay
Incredible location with unique characteristics for relaxing and unwinding.
It may not be perfect to everyone's liking but it was perfect for me and others who love scenery, great service from caring staff, the serenity in the evenings all in fashionable characteristics.
TV reception isn't the best at times but this isn't a bad thing as there's plenty of natural entertainment to satisfy most cravings.
We stayed at Panorama Retreat and Resort last night, and it was such an unexpected gem!
The place is incredibly peaceful a huge resort we happened to book randomly, and it turned out to be such a beautiful surprise.
Driving down there felt like entering another world.
We were lucky to meet the owner who looks after the place; she was so lovely and welcoming. She even took us around the resort, and the view behind the hotel was absolutely stunning surrounded by big trees and calm nature.
We’ll definitely come back again for sure!
Loved the rooms, peaceful, beautiful gardens,
We brought a friend and they accommodated the request for his room to be next to ours.
A lot of windy roads to get to - advertised as a "panorama" hotel for it's panoramic views which is a misconception. They have an ant infestation at the entrance to the rooms from the rear carpark. The walls are so thin, the rooms are exceptionally noisy. There are gaps in the doors to the rooms that light comes in from the corridor which is on all night. The bathrooms are so small and the shower pressure is terrible. The beds are uncomfortable, none of us really got any sleep. Definitely do not recommend unless you are backpacking and don't care about any luxuries. And the staff member was rude to my partner when checking in as we arrived late (which was notified) but she was exceptionally rude about it as he was asking where the box was for picking up the AH key. And it wasn't in an obvious location. It used to go by a different name "Country Place" which was still the sign at the entrance from the road.
Nice garden and location
There was no body on site during night. No fridge facility in the bedroom.
Power outrage on 16 Jan 2026 at 3am until morning. No water supply. The water came back with dirt and dirty muddy water. No customer service. No one on site to help out. I used medical device and there was no power on 16th Jan 2026 at 3am. Had a sleepless night. I was scared and was only resident in the hotel.
I love that this place is tucked away in a beautiful, tranquil part of the Dandenongs. We really enjoy going for hikes and exploring the local walking tracks around the Olinda Falls area. This is wonderful value for money.
This is not a dislike, but just something to point out to others looking to book here. They don't have onsite food/ bar that is open.
They do have a complimentary coffee / tea station and bottled water and breakfast packs so be prepared to drive 5mins down the road to enjoy lunch / dinner offsite. This is one of the reasons why the accommodation is so affordable.
it was great, very comfortable
I got there a bit later in the evening and didn't realise there was no facility for getting any snacks or food. i should have read the email better.
That would have made it perfect though. even a vending machine would have been amazing.
