Having stayed at The Raeburn previously we decided to say there again for my 70th on our return from Australia.
Very pleased to have done so, this time with brother his wife and my friend.
We were made welcome, the rooms and amenities were very large and clean.
Breakfast was outstanding on all three mornings. Dinner was something of a letdown when three of us ordered fish and chips and could hardly find the fish within the batter but the rest of our stay was perfect.
Staff are so pleasant and helpful it is easy to see why this hotel is always well attended.
We had such a wonderful stay at The Raeburn Hotel. From the moment we arrived, everything felt effortlessly welcoming. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful, with a great blend of charm and comfort - perfect for a relaxing getaway.
The staff really made the experience stand out. Everyone was exceptionally friendly, attentive, and genuinely lovely throughout our stay. The food was also a highlight - absolutely amazing and well worth it.
A very special thank you to Jackie, who went above and beyond to make our stay extra special.
We wouldn’t hesitate to return and highly recommend The Raeburn Hotel to anyone looking for a memorable stay.
The end of March we came over from the Netherlands. We stayed 4 nights in the Raeburn hotel. In one word: excellent. We really loved the hotel. Great atmosphere, really nice that locale also come in for drinks on the very nice terras. With sheep rugs on the wooden furniture and heaters and cosy Christmas Lightning it gives a great atmosphere. The rooms
Are large and very nicely decorated. The alla carte breakfast is really excellent. We also had dinner and that was a very pleasamt experience as well. Also the staf is really helpful. The hotel is on walking distance from the city center and everything else. Situated in the very nice neighborhood Stockbridge brings other conveniences like nice shops and restaurants and having the chance to walk to Dean Village. Definitly coming back. Annette and Marloes
Location-staff!!-style and decor of room-bath….aaaah-minimal to no hotel noise in room-more spacious than expected-restaurant and bar- great shower pressure!
We love staying at the Rayburn trade. It’s very close to our daughters house. We can walk there. Atmosphere is so cozy and warm. The room was incredible. Also, love the breakfast and the waitresses. The manager Jacquie is awesome! Everyone’s very helpful if we had any questions or needed anything. Can’t wait to stay again!
Gorgeous room and location
Lift was dirty
My husband and I recently stayed at the Raeburn for your honeymoon and truly had the best experience! Our room was so spacious and comfortable. The entire hotel was beautiful, from our room to the front garden to the restaurant and bar. We had breakfast at the hotel every day, dinner twice, and had snacks at the bar a few times. The food and drinks were outstanding. Highly recommend having one of the fresh almond croissant in the morning! The restaurant and bar were lively and made for a really fun atmosphere. Even when it was busy downstairs, our room was very quite. Most notably, was the staff. Everyone was so accommodating, friendly, and helpful. We can't wait to visit again!
Our recent stay at The Raeburn in Edinburgh was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the hotel’s perfect balance of boutique charm and understated luxury. Nestled in the beautiful Stockbridge area, it offered a peaceful retreat while still being within easy reach of the city’s main attractions.
The room was impeccably designed, stylish, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed. The attention to detail really stood out, from the quality of the furnishings to the little touches that made the space feel both elegant and welcoming. We slept incredibly well, thanks to the quiet surroundings and very comfortable bed.
What truly elevated our stay, however, was the service. Every member of staff we encountered was warm, attentive, and genuinely eager to make our visit special. Nothing felt forced; the hospitality was natural and sincere, which made a lasting impression.
We also had the pleasure of dining at the hotel, and it was a highlight in itself. The food was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious, with a menu that felt both refined and approachable. The atmosphere in the restaurant and bar area was lively yet relaxed, perfect for unwinding after a day exploring Edinburgh or on business.
Overall, The Raeburn continues to exceed our expectations in every way. It’s the kind of place that feels like a hidden gem, stylish without being pretentious, and luxurious without losing its warmth. We wouldn’t hesitate to return and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable stay in Edinburgh.
From the moment we arrived and spoke to the receptionist, who was exceptionally helpful and actually showed us to our room, we had a fantastic stay. As mentioned receptionist was polite and helpful and this started the visit off superbly. The room was bigger than your average hotel room and was well furnished with everything you could want in a room. The bathroom was well sized and the shower was good. The breakfast menu offered many different options, was very reasonably priced and the food was very good. Again the morning staff were friendly and helpful.
Rooms were amazing. Very big, great walk in wardrobes. Good soundproofing and fantastic shower
Nothing at all. Car park is small but street parking in free on weekends.
Absolutely lovely hotel in a great location. The room was clean, well designed and spacious as was the bathroom. There are so many restaurants, cafes and delis within close walking distance of the hotel. Lindsey and the rest of the staff were genuine and friendly, which really made our stay. We had breakfast at the hotel too which was delicious. Will definitely be coming back to this hotel next time we visit Edinburgh.
We had a very cosy and comfortable stay last Thursday and Friday. Lovely, traditional-style large room - extremely comfortable with all necessary facilities - including supply of Tunnock’s Tea Cakes in the fridge. Lovely lounge and great food. We will be back!
Loved the location, buzzing stockbridge, 20 minutes out of centre but a lovely community feel.
The hotel is very busy on an evening, after returning to the hotel, after dinner, we couldn't get a seat in the bar.
Wonderfully warm and lively hotel where everything works. The staff are excellent - very well trained. Hats off to Jackie who trains and manages the staff in the bar and restaurant. Daniel was our waiter for the evening and he combined a detailed
understanding of the menu and drinks with good service and genuine friendliness.
The breakfast is excellent. Not a buffet in sight and all cooked/prepared fresh to order. A real plus.
The indoor and outdoor bar areas are „buzzing“ and very inviting.
If you want a genuine, warm and friendly small hotel in Edinburgh where you are not an anonymous customer, look no further than the Raeburn Hotel.
Wonderful room. Friendly staff and a great location. Looking forward to returning.
Very comfortable bed so we had a great sleep. Lpvely toileteries. Friendly welcoming staff. We have stayed here several times visiting family nearby. Very pleasant and comfortable hotel and homely feel. Food very good but disappointed evening menu same as lunch. Dining room extremely noisy at night. .Soft materials for sound dampening needed?
