Pros:

Location was great -- very happening part of town. The room was comfortable and the staff were lovely.

Cons:

It's not really a hotel -- more of a bar/restaurant with rooms above it. The reception desk was a cubby hole behind the bar, and there were very few amenities for tourists, eg. no maps, no concierge, etc.

Another stay at the Raeburn.
Pros:

Another excellent stay at the Raeburn. Staff were as always friendly and helpful. The room clean and comfortable. And the quality and service in the restaurant were first class. I would highly recommend the omelette for breakfast. Really nice.

We love Edinburgh and Stockbridge and this is ideally located
Pros:

Location was fantastic and the room was large albeit a bit tired

Staff really helpful and breakfast was delicious

Cons:

The bar was extremely busy inside and out and so noisy in the evenings and Jen we returned for a drink after dinner could never find anywhere to sit - could do with a residence lounge or area

Unique Hotel in Cool Neighborhood
Pros:

We stayed in this hotel twice - before and after walking the West Highland Way (total of 5 nights). We loved this hotel. Why?

1. Energetic, friendly and always helpful staff.
2. Large comfortable and very clean room.
3. Great location away from the crowded touristy areas, but yet close enough that we generally walked to many of the attractions. The wonderful Royal Botanic Garden is nearby.
4. The breakfasts were delicious as were the dinners we had at the restaurant.
5. The hotel bar (and outdoor spaces) seems to be a gathering spot for neighborhood professionals. Good vibe - even for us older folks.😉. We enjoyed having a drink after a day of exploring.

We hope to be back!

Best hotel
Pros:

We had an absolutely wonderful stay here. The staff made us feel so welcome with their warmth and kindness. The breakfast deserves a special mention — fresh, delicious, and the perfect start to each day. We also dined there in the evening and were really impressed by the quality of the food; everything was locally sourced, beautifully prepared, and absolutely delicious. A truly memorable stay, and we would happily return and highly recommend it to others.

Stay here
Pros:

This was probably the best hotel i have stayed at in europe as a whole. The room was very spacious and had a soaking tub for the wife and a bar that was obviously a local hang out. the Breakfast offered was amazing as well as the entire staff

A genuinely brilliant solo stay
Pros:

Booked this place for a solo trip and honestly couldn't fault it. The whole hotel was spotless from top to bottom, and you could tell the team actually cared rather than just going through the motions.
The staff were the highlight — friendly, attentive, and happy to help without being in your face. The folk behind the bar were a good laugh and really attentive too.
Great location, easy to get around from here, and the food was genuinely good — not just hotel-standard but properly enjoyable. The room was comfortable and quiet — no noise to speak of, which made for a proper good sleep — and great value for what you pay.
Travelling on my own, I really appreciated how easy and welcoming the whole experience was. Wouldn't hesitate to come back, which I will, and happy to recommend it to anyone heading this way.
