A truly special experience! We loved staying at The Raeburn.
Pros:

We absolutely loved The Raeburn, which is beautiful inside and out. Room 1 and its en suite are sensational. The bedroom is so spacious and considered, and the roll-top bath, separate walk-in shower and huge window in the bathroom was a real treat. It was great having the tea and coffee facilities neatly tucked away and ready for use, as well as the water, crisps and sweet treats for which there was no charge. The building is lovely and Stockbridge is a perfect area to stay, full of charm, with the option of glorious walk down the Leith to Dean Village (don't miss it!), or a short stroll to the Botanic Gardens. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and I very much liked the way locals enjoyed the hotel bar (as did we) and the place truly felt like part of the community. We also enjoyed tasty breakfasts and a Sunday roast, which was delicious. We found it easy to get up to George St (by cab, and once we tried the bus when no taxis were available, which was fun) and from there walk up to the Old Town, we preferred to walk downhill on the return journey! We had a wonderful time and I cannot recommend this hotel and its location highly enough.

Superb! It was wonderful!
Pros:

Room 1 and its en suite are absolutely beautiful. I loved the spaciousness of both the bedroom and the wonderful bathroom with roll-top bath and separate large walk-in shower, plus huge window. The provision of water, tea and coffee-making equipment and crisps and sweet treats free of charge was very nice. The staff were friendly and helpful. The building is lovely and the location is fabulous. Stockbridge is a great area with the amazing Village of Dean a walk down the Water of Leith and the Botanic Gardens a short stroll away too. It is easy to get up to George St and from there walk into the Old Town, but I was glad not to be staying right in the centre, especially as the Festival was on during our visit and the city was thronged with people.

Cons:

Nothing really. Perhaps the pillows! I think they were hypoallergenic and that meant they weren't as comfy as the down ones I use at home.

Food at the Raeburn, Stockbridge, Edinburgh
Pros:

In Edinburgh for the weekend for the fringe and staying in the Stockbridge area.
Had a meal in the Raeburn on Thursday evening. Staff very courteous, service was excellent and food delicious. Highly commend our waiter Tyler, who was very polite, attentive and provided excellent service.
Food was price typical for Edinburgh. Would I recommend to try, absolutely.

Lovely stay a walk from central Edinburgh is a lovely quiet neighborhood
Pros:

The bed was comfortable. The room had everything we needed. The bathroom was tidy and the mini fridge was stocked and we had complementary goodies and the staff was clear about what we had to pay and what was included. The pub and restaurant were delicious and our rooms were super quiet. We loved the raeburn and what a difference compared to a bunch of disappointing Airbnb disasters this summer.

Cons:

We liked everything except we didn’t know that under 18s couldn’t eat in the pub after 9 pm. We got in late the first day and ended up with take out in our room and that was a bit sad.

Brilliant stay at first class rooms above delicious gastropub
Pros:

First time to the fringe and loved our stay in Stockbridge. The raeburn beds were fantastically comfortable: we got a great nights rest. The hotel was a 15-20 minute walk from the old town and the 29 bus was a straight shot into town in 10 minutes. The staff were very accommodating with ice or utensils if we got take out. The restaurant is absolutely fabulous. I booked through booking, but it’s about £75/night cheaper if you book direct on the website and you get breakfast included. The hot water and bathrooms were lovely and the food at the pub/restaurant was delicious. My teenage daughter said it was the best burger she had ever had. Thanks for a lovely holiday. The fringe is also worth visiting: and we have sunny weather all three days!

Excellent if overpriced. London hotels (Hazlitt’s, with triple the beauty, was the same price).
Pros:

Great location (Stockbridge). Professional staff. Spacious rooms. Excellent food.

Cons:

Different rooms have different TV experiences. One had Apple TV. One didn’t. That sort of (minor) inconvenience should be addressed. An unfortunate double charge shouldn’t happen these days.

Stockbridge is a dream of a neighborhood to
visit!!!! So central to everything and such charming shops and restaurants! And the hotel is chic without being pretentious. The beer garden out front was hopping every night!

Until July….
Pros:

Until July, I had only been a guest enjoying an outstanding proper Scottish breakfast at the Raeburn. In July, I was fortunate enough to have stayed at The Raeburn Inn. It was wonderful. A comfortable room with all the amenities, an exemplary staff and of course a delicious breakfast. Thank you Hannah for your perfectly Scottish hospitality. Can’t wait to be a guest again.

More than a hotel – a truly memorable experience
Pros:

The Raeburn is so much more than a hotel. It is a complete experience from the moment you arrive until the moment you leave.

The hotel itself is beautiful, with elegant and comfortable rooms, a unique atmosphere and so much character. It feels welcoming, relaxed and personal in a way that is hard to find.

What really makes The Raeburn exceptional, however, is the people. Every single member of staff we met was professional, genuinely warm and incredibly attentive. They didn't just provide outstanding service, they took a real interest in making sure we had the best possible stay. They remembered our plans, asked whether David Byrne's concert had lived up to our expectations, and later wanted to know how we had enjoyed our stand-up comedy show. These may seem like small details, but they made us feel genuinely welcome and cared for.

That level of hospitality is rare, and it turned a wonderful hotel stay into something we will remember for a very long time.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone at The Raeburn. We will recommend your hotel to everyone we know who is planning a trip to Edinburgh, and we very much hope to return ourselves.
