Week long stay at The Raeburn - winner!
Pros:

Wonderful week long stay for 5 of us (4 adults, 1 teen) in 2 deluxe double ooms. The king beds were a special treat as was the slipper tub in each room. And heated towel racks! Daily housekeeping did a great job, refreshing the room and replenishing the water and soda in the mini-fridges as needed. Rooms were spacious, well appointed, and as we managed to be in Edinburgh during a particularly warm week, the mini-splits kept the rooms perfectly warmed/cooled and non-stuffy.

The entire staff, from the front desk to restaurant servers (foos was solid) to bartenders were professional, helpful, and came across as enjoying what they do. They really made the stay extra 'homey'.

The location of the hotel in Stockbridge was ideal for us as our family loves wandering and checking out small shops and restaurants, of which there are many in the area. Reaching the city center is quite doable if you are willing to walk but hop on/hop off buses can be used (closest stop is still a bit of a stroll, down to the botanical garden, but only about 15 minutes) and the hotel front desk will be happy to call you a taxi as well.

The only downside was the communal spaces were quite packed almost all the time. A testament to the Raeburn's popularity with both those staying and local folks visiting, but it does make for challenges when trying to find a spot to sit and relax. Overall, we hope to return to Edinburgh in the future and when we do, plan on staying at the Raeburn again. Doesn't get much better.

Lovely small hotel in Edinburgh neighborhood
Pros:

Superb small hotel located in Stockbridge away from the main touristy parts of Edinburgh. The immediate neighborhood has tons of restaurants and shops and was very quiet at night, and just down a side street from the hotel is a large park; also very close to the spectacular Royal Botanic Garden. There are buses that stop less than a block from the hotel that easily get you to Old Town in ~20 min.

Our room was extremely comfortable, with a great bed, a nice window seat, and one of the best showers we've ever enjoyed. The hotel has a lively bar and restaurant that seemed to attract locals and visitors alike - we ended up having drinks and food there a couple of time, it had such a nice atmosphere (and good service). We opted for breakfast and were offered a large set of options each morning, all of them delicious. All of the staff members were friendly and efficient.

The Raeburn is a bit pricey, but not out of line with other options we found in Edinburgh, and the small size; warm, welcoming atmosphere; convenience; and overall niceness of the place make it a very good value for the money. We hope to return!

A small hotel with everything just right
Pros:

Great experience. The hotel is located in the Stockbridge neighborhood on a street with lovely shops, pubs, restaurants and cafes right next door. Note that New Town is a short walk away but mostly uphill. Use the app Central Taxis for quick transports in the city with chatty old-school taxi drivers!

The hotel is the hotspot of the area and downstairs gets very busy on weekends. However, our room on the second floor was quiet and peaceful even on busy nights. Staff was always warm and friendly!

Our room was spatious, romantically stylish and well air-conditioned. Lovely bathtub and large shower. The room was great for a family of 3 (even 4).

Breakfast is ordered from the menu even if included with the room. We stayed long enough to try almost everything for example eggs benedict with smoked salmon, haggis and hashbrowns and sweet pancakes. Everything is fresh and made to order, served with a smile. Dinner was great too, easy fresh dishes after a long day.

Great stay!!!
Pros:

We loved staying in the Stockbridge neighborhood. We were away from the tourist traps and crowds. We enjoyed great food at nearby restaurants and walked to the Botanical Garden. The Raeburn is welcoming and a neighborhood hangout. Our room was spacious and well appointed. The bed was very comfortable. We stayed in rm 2 - highly recommended. We would definitely stay here again.

Hote agradável e sempre cheio de gente
Pros:

The staff makes the hotel
Pros:

This was our second stay at the Raeburn and we will stay there whenever we're in Edinburgh. Yes, it gets high marks for location, room quality, cleanliness, bar and terrace, but the staff deserves special praise. Lindsay is a jewel!

Superb staff, service and facilities at The Raeburn
Pros:

We recently stayed at The Raeburn for a family wedding, in a variety of rooms and were spoilt by the amazing staff who were brilliant. All rooms were spotless, well appointed and the food was superb, catering for all dietary requirements at our pre-wedding dinner. I would thoroughly recommend the hotel and a visit to the Bar with the friendliest staff. And start the day with an incredible breakfast. 5 stars
