Staying there felt like being trapped in a filthy, noisy, decaying dump masquerading as a hotel
Pros:

To be honest, I did not like this hotel at all. The location on Marine Drive was the only real advantage, but it came with constant traffic noise and endless honking, to the point that I would much rather have stayed elsewhere.

Cons:

The whole place felt more like a prison cell than a hotel. It is extremely old, poorly maintained, and seems completely stuck in time. The reception staff were rude, cold, and unwelcoming. Check-in was done manually in a huge book, which felt outdated and unnecessarily intrusive, almost like going through immigration.
The building itself is in terrible condition. The elevator is so old it belongs in a museum, and the stairs are badly worn and potentially unsafe. Nothing about the hotel feels charming or historic. It simply feels neglected and run-down.
The room was shocking. It had an old key lock, peeling paint on the walls, a very noisy window AC unit, and a bathroom with only the bare minimum. There was no shower curtain, the bathroom window would not close properly, and mosquitoes kept getting in. They did not even provide basic necessities properly such as toilet paper and enough towels.
I had travelled all night and hoped to rest in the afternoon, but loud construction noise from the next room made that impossible. I had paid extra for a partial sea view, but all I could see was construction netting. The balcony was dirty and unusable, with water dripping from the AC and forming a filthy puddle that attracted mosquitoes. The old balcony doors did nothing to block the outside traffic noise.
The curtains were thin and let in too much light, the bedsheets looked very old, and every day I had to keep asking for basic items like toilet paper, towels, bottled water, and tea bags.
At nearly 80 USD per night, this place is wildly overpriced. It was one of the worst stays I have had in years. This is not a proper hotel, just an old and badly maintained guesthouse falling apart.
