Very happy
Pros:

The pool on the roof was the highlight. We loved the breakfasts too and, more importantly, the kids loved the breakfasts!

Cons:

Bathroom with window instead of wall a bit off-putting!

Great value and convenient location
Pros:

Location very close to the train station was ideal as we stayed here after the train from Ella. Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the guy running the restaurant

Cons:

Loads of mothballs in the room, including in the shower drain! I only stayed one night but my clothes smelled like mothballs anyway

Dreadful breakfast and ignorant and rude reception staff
Pros:

The housekeeping staff were very helpful

Cons:

The reception staff were rude and indifferent, the breakfast buffet was SO BAD I have never been presented with a more disgusting and appalling selection of food. Cold chicken sausages, cold crispy and smelly scrambled egg, stale bread, cold coffee and cold tea and when I asked for fresh tea was told we don’t do that. Staff were sitting playing on their phones while we were presented with a truly awful selection of food and drinks. No juice at all

Good location but below average hotel
Pros:

The only plus point was it is walking distance from Dutch hospital and the One Galle Face Mall

Cons:

The hotel is old and the furniture dated. We stayed for one night only, so it was bearable, but I think there are better hotels around if you are staying for longer. Outside our room was the accounting department and we could hear all the conversations from the time they arrive in the morning, not to mention a group of tourists that were loud in the lobby below and the sound carried up through the stairwell to our room. Breakfast was passable.

Colombo hotel
Pros:

All the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.
The manager especially went out of his way when I left my bag with money and documents in taxi from the airport. He was straight on the phone and back with me in half an hour, thank you very much.

Pros:

Good location, good breakfast, nice rooftop bar. Friendly staff.

Cons:

Hotel is a bit dated, friends of mine had lots of cockroaches in their room.

very small toilet, imposible to have a gud bath. A rude male staff in reception, made it worse.
Pros:

Price was very cheap
Most of the staff were very friendly.

Cons:

- there was this male staff who work in counter, who is very rude, he thinks he is the owner of the place. Very very poor attitude, always angry.
- repeatedly asked for complementary water and tea bags, but failled to provide until i yelled at the counter.
-toilet is way too small for the price we paid.
-place is very old, needs a gud maintanance.

Older hotel with older amenities. Great bed. Great breakfast. Great location.
