Avoid motel 6 in Portland Maine

Desk clerk was behaving strangely, almost unapproachable, only pulling his face mask down long enough to drink something out of a red solo cup.
This was nighttime and very cold out but several people were loitering around the outside entrance, as well as in the lobby area. After checking in, I went up to my room to find a broken toilet and a clogged bathroom sink filled with feces. I was pretty horrified- and exhausted after having driven all day. I really needed some sleep so I could drive to Boston in the morning and catch my flight back to Nevada. I got back in the rental car and drove to the ramada on riverside ave and never looked back. I was also a little upset for having spent the money on uninhabitable accommodations.
I guess it's true. Some things you truly can't unsee. Horrible experience. Thanks for letting me share.

Pros:

The staff were very nice, helpful and seemed diligent with their work duties. Especially, the gentleman in the morning who was maintaining the hallways and other common areas.

Cons:

The parking lot snow plowing/clearing. Personally I would've separated the lot into alternate areas. That way the equipment had clear access... Repairs.... walls around the windows, loose shower control, exceptionally loud bathroom exhaust fan etc. however nothing major and understandable for an economical option

The biggest problem was the smell it reeked of weed. not so much in my room, but definitely outside and by the door hone

There was a niddle in my room the floor was dirty never washed the stuff my room was to have it didn’t the staff locked my wife out of the hotel because they made a mistake then never apologized

Fine I guess no amenities but room was clean for 75$
Pros:

Weird people in lobby no microwaves in rooms one in lobby I use it and some guy tells me he been working there for years and shouldn’t take me that long to warm up food not a good stay

La propreté, ça sentait mauvais il y a autant d’animaux que de clients, on nous a donné 2 chambres ou il y avait déjà des clients et la troisième etait mal nettoyé, des poils d’animaux partout dans les corridor et un ascenseur qui ne fonctionne pas

Worst one in my whole life
Pros:

Nothin at all… and I’m a positive person that tries to see the bright sight of every. I left with fear of catching an infection.

Cons:

A friend of the staff (Asian girl) cursed and threatened my friends and their kids to use her gun and “blow their brains out”, just because my friend asked someone else (not the girl) to help open the door for them since their hands were holding kids and stuff from the beach. The staff did nothing and laugh.

All bath towels were covered with hair
The floor was sooo dusty and dirty
People were selling “questionable merchandise” in the parking lot

The outside and lobby smelled awful of marijuana. There was also sketchy people hanging around out front and out back staring at us. We never stayed at this facility, we went elsewhere
