Hotel need some renovation. Plaster was pealing of the wall in our room
BEDDING EAS EXCELLENT BUT I COULD NOT SEE INTO THE BATHROOM MIRROR OR USE THE SHOWER AS THEY WERE TOO HIGH. The bed was exceptionally low so it was difficult to get out of, and the hanging rail and TV so high I either couldn't reach the mish mash 4 hangers and got a real crick in my neck trying to watch the TV. There was only lino on the floor (apparently as they cater for Divers and sea sports people but the write up didn't say that) The breakfast was basic. Cereal, toast and cooked. NO fruit of any kind and one morning I didn't go down until 9am (when they served until 9.30) AND THERE WERE NO BEANS OR BACON LEFT JUST ONE SAUSAGE AND A SPOONFUL OF DRIED SCRAMBLED EGG. THE LADY SHE WOULD GET MORE BUT AFTER WAITING 10 MORE MINITES i HAD TO GO TO AN APT IN WEYMOUTH AT 10AM

Very easy to get to everything and you can park directly there, either in their car park or behind in the public car park. Staff are lovely- especially the lady that runs breakfast. We stay every year, my daughter looks forward to the end of summer to see Polly the Parrot.
A really great stay. Lovely staff. Breakfast was really nice. Room was bright, modern and clean. Great to have a full fridge in room. Fab view of the sea. The hotel was a really pleasant surprise and great value for money. Will definitely return.
Parking was a bit of a lottery! But stayed three nights and managed to get a spot in front of hotel each night. Parking is tricky everywhere on Portland though.

Always love coming here. The rooms are clean, tidy and the staff are helpful. We especially loved Polly the Parott! We had breakfast there, which helped us start our day!

The location was great for us. We loved the helicopters landing nearby, and the excitement of the docked big ships and boat yards. There were a few little bays within walking distance where you could get in the water. Fab for going onto Portland too.
Our room was at the front, so we could see the sea. Bath AND shower, cotton bedding and comfy beds. Fridge AND small freezer was handy.

The room was basic and small for 2 of us. Parking was an issue, (the company opposite had most of the spaces), and blocked us in one day. Neighbours noisy, and nobody cared about not banging the doors! There was a lot of noise outdoors at times - big trucks passing by late at night and early morning, and loud drinking going on. Castletown was tired and old, (but we liked the character and history of it). Could do with 2 bedside lights for a twin room, not one.

Ok for a short stay only as no space to hang more than 4 items in the room rather than in a wardrobe.
