Great hotel in a great location
Pros:

Great location. The breakfasts were plentiful and filling. The rooms and hotel were clean and the common areas were always neat, tidy and clean

Cons:

The room I stayed in was tight for 2 adults with full sized suitcases

Enttäuschend!!!

Die Lage ist hervorragend.

Cons:

Wir checkten spät abends ein. Das Zimmer war dreckig. Das Personal versprach mir das Zimmer nun vernünftig sauber zu machen. Beim zweiten Betreten des Zimmers waren weiterhin fremde Haare im Bad und unterm Sofa zu finden und auch das Kaugummi-Papier klebte noch unterm Nachtschrank. Ich sprach beim Front Desk Manager vor. Dieser kümmerte sich persönlich, jedoch ohne Erfolg. Auch bei der 3. Chance fanden wir ein dreckiges Zimmer vor. Ich forderte einen Zimmerwechsel. Dieser erfolgte nach einer unendlichen Wartezeit. Das neue Zimmer war wiederum unsauber. Der Front Desk Manager erklärte mir, dass es sich um ein altes Gebäude handelt und meine Erwartungen einfach zu hoch seien. In meinen Augen gibt es eine Unterschied zwischen einem alten Gebäude und der Sauberkeit eines Raumes. Wir verkürzten unseren Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel. Im Verhältnis ist es eines der teuersten Hotels, welches ich in Japan gebucht habe. Es war eine pure Enttäuschung.

Well presented hotel with a good breakfast in a great location
Pros:

Rooms were not a great size but typical of those you come to expect in Japan. Staff were so helpful. Breakfast was plentiful with a reasonable selection (although, never changed). Location is great, right in the centre of things and easily reached using the subway from the station.

Cons:

As with many reasonably priced hotels, the rooms are small.To get bigger, you'll have to pay more.

Pros:

The location was excellent, the room was clean and comfortable. The staff gave us a spacious room with view of the main city street as a kind gesture for our first visit. They also kept a handwritten welcome note which was exceptionally sweet.

Actually liked everything about it.

My favorite Kyoto hotel so far (having visited the past four years in a row).
Pros:

Perfect location. Clean and comfortable room. Staff were professional, helpful, and friendly. The listening stations and vinyl collection were my favorite feature.

Cons:

Western-style breakfast only. Would have enjoyed Japanese offerings.

Pros:

Best breakfast we had in Japan. Fantastic location in Kyoto with walking distance to Gion and markets

Cons:

Room is a bit small if staying with multiple bags on a long trip, but is manageable for a few days and worth the trade off for the location

Walkable to everything
Pros:

Fantastic location! Close to many sites and shopping. I loved the public onsen, free coffee/water and on-site laundry.

Cons:

There were a couple issues with the cleanliness of the room when we checked in, however the staff handled it quickly and professionally.
