Just too expensive for what it was.
Cost
Service and quality or exceptional. You pay a lot for the View and the privilege of staying at the shard. But you do get quality in return.
Adding 5% service charge to the room bill.
This location is second to none in London! Spectacular views over Tower Bridge, the city, Canary Wharf etc. The view changes throughout the day in the different light and is equally lovely at night. Really recommend the bar and restaurant. Great views again and really special food, so beautifully presented and incredibly tasty.
Everything was great!
Amazing view of London from a really good size, comfortable room.
It was all good. No complaints
Everything was excellent. We stayed here for my husband’s 60th birthday. We were very well looked after.
Breakfast was a little chaotic but on the whole I can’t say anything bad about this hotel. Everything was perfect.

Location and room service food
A piece of card was placed on the surface in front of the TV sensors in both rooms which meant the remote control couldn’t operate the television
From checking in to checking out this hotel was quite honestly the best I have stayed in “it didn’t disappoint!” Yes it’s expensive but it’s worth every penny
We had a lovely stay for more than a week at the Shard. Our room was spacious. The breakfast spread was fantastic. The pool and sauna were smashin. The gentleman at the concierge named, Kenny, was so nice and he smelt so nice too I had to ask his perfume and he was happy to share it. We also left baggages to claim and Kenny was very helpful with these. I hope all gents at the concierge are as nice as him. Thanks Shard. We will be back.
Vistas y atención excelente. Es un Oasis de paz dentro del caos

The view, the facilities
Didn’t like the fact that a whopping service charge was added on check in (over £100), I felt this was excessive for a 1 night stay bearing in mind we didn’t use anything from reception (we even took our own luggage as there was just a small bag)
The views are spectacular and some of the amenities are beautiful, but the staff let us down daily on the details over the four days of our stay. Housekeeping, concierge and the front desk all made errors in their work that interfered with our ability to enjoy the hotel. The last one was on checkout when I saw the charges on the bill for what was supposed to be an included breakfast, credits that had been discussed at check in had not been applied, and a daily "discretionary gratuity" for all the poor services. Overall we left disappointed . Go for a nice drink or meal, but for this price there is better service in many other hotels in London.
We stopped at the Shangri La hotel for one night for my birthday.
Although check in as at 16:00 we arrived early and thankfully our room was ready so we checked in straight away. The lady at reception was very friendly and informative and the check in process was simple.
We went to our room and the city view we had was spectacular. Unfortunately the windows were filthy. When one of the main selling points of the hotel is the view, I would’ve expected them to be clean so you could admire the stunning view even more. The room itself was very clean and spacious, with electronic black out shutters. The bathroom modern, with two sinks, a rainfall shower and heated toilet seat.
When booking online there was an option to choose specific pillows, which we chose but the request wasn’t fulfilled when we checked in.
There’s an infinity pool, sauna and gym which is free for hotel guests. You have to book a time slot, which can be done with reception. At the pool you get free fruit, water and coffee and there was also a very attentive gentleman who kept the area clean and tidy.
We opted to have breakfast as part of our stay, which was phenomenal. So much options to choose from, Asian delicacies, English cooked breakfast and continental. There was also fresh fruit, a selection of juices and a variety of bread. The service was brilliant, our cutlery was replaced after every plate of food we had and it was a nice to be greeted with a smile when we were being served. I’d recommend bringing sunglasses as it was very bright.
Overall, a lovely stay but for the price charged, £800 for one night, there’s a few things that could’ve been improved.
