Amazing place, clean so near to the Vatican too. We walked everywhere which is what Rome is about. Loved staying here friendly staff too. Highly recommend.
Desayuno un poco justo
The hotel was ok, we were mislead on the location not by the hotel but easyJet say it’s 0.5km from city centre it definitely isn’t! Bit of an odd location in the middle of what looks like a run down residential location. Staff were very nice and helpful rooms clean a bit dated and you can literally hear the person in next room going to toilet which isn’t great. We were just above reception so was no noisy and didn’t sleep at all the first night. This was our first time to Rome it wasn’t bad but now knowing where the main attractions are I would try to stay near the piazza navona area which is pretty central. Would I stay again? Probably not but for a budget holiday it’s absolutely fine. I can’t comment on breakfast etc we did have one drink at the upstairs terrace but definitely cheaper to go to a bar. Great location for the Vatican though and castel Sant Angelo. You can then walk from there through to the piazza navona area across the bridge. We walked 42 miles in 3.5 days, we did however get a taxi to Trevi fountain the first morning very early that was €19 but on other occasions we did just walk there when we got our bearings.
Le calme tout près de la cité du Vatican a pied (10 à 15min) et à proximité des transports en commun
Rien tout est parfait personnel à votre écoute et très sympathique
I came with my daughter for her to have her 18th birthday in Rome.
First, the good things about this hotel.
The area is great for accessing Vatican City. The Basilica and all it has to offer is about a 15 minute walk away, with lots of cafes lining the streets to help you out.
The rooms of the hotel were very clean and room service did them every day. The shower was a waterfall shower, so was fantastic. The concierge were also great.
So, the negatives…the outside bar is still not open due to the seagull problem mentioned in other reviews. They have overcome this somewhat by opening the doors of the breakfast seating area, and allowing people to have a drink there and wander onto the small terrace either to have a smoke or look at the very small view of the basilica.
I decided to eat there one night and ordered a €16 pizza (vegetarian)on my second night there. The pizza was eggplant and potatoes (which I at first took to be pineapple) absolutely terrible. Roast potatoes on a pizza!
On Sunday night we decided to try the hotel cuisine again. We went at 6.30pm, closed, we went again at 7.15pm, again closed. We asked at reception and were told (with embarrassment from the staff) that all the staff had a day off and the restaurant/the bar did not open on Sunday. So keep that in mind.
No food or drink on Sunday. My daughter and I had our taxi to the airport booked for 3am, so wanted a quick meal at the hotel. Instead, we had to go out and found a great restaurant nearby called the Goose. But…
Pretty sure my booking involved bar service and food available if required.
So, to sum up my visit. Good location. But only for people without a walking disability. Great for the Vatican. Decent facilities. Good concierge. Awful
food. Don’t bother if you fancy a drink and sitting out in a night.
Hotel literally closes on Sunday!
Quick tip. The guys selling water near the basilica will try to charge you €8 for a bottle of Evian. I bought a massive bottle of cold water for €1.50 from the greengrocer at the bottom of the hotels street. Don’t be ripped off!
My friend and i stayed in room 113 at this hotel ..We were greeted by a lovely chap i believe called Alexandra ,however all the reception staff throughout our stay were friendly and hospitable.
The hotel is immaculately clean and modern decorated. Breakfast was as expected when travelling in Europe..Continental menu . The hotel has a food and bar menu and we enjoyed the food offered .
Room and housekeeping was first class..spacious bathroom with a big window..only downside ,we could not enjoy the roooftop open area as the hotel ,which is considerate, baby birds were nesting and the hotel was protecting..however,we sat on the groundfloor outside small seating area surrounded by shrubbery and got bit by mossies..
The other side dining room you can view the dome of the vatican . We witnessed a storm and it was spectacular..You have to go up a reasonable gradient hill to access the hotel and the paving around that area is not wheelchair friendly as it is in poor state with pot holes etc and cars parked on pedestrian walkcways..
However,i have recommended this hotel to my friends visiting in september ..
The vatican is approximately 26 minute walk and also positioned around plenty of bars, shops and restaurants ..train station five minutes walk from hotel..
I would return to this hotel
Todo excelente, cerca de todo…
Zimmergrösse gut, Lage mit Nähe zum Vatikan in Gehdistanz hervorragend.
It was less than a ten minute walk to the Vatican and tons of restaurants. Also about a 3-5 minute walk from the train station
Extremely hard to find any dislikes at all, it took me a while to get used to using the elevator (which had two sets of doors) and the room card which enables you to turn the lights on from within the room.
As I said previously, these were very minor inconveniences and more of an issue on my behalf. Other than this, it was absolutely OUTSTANDING!
