Hotel Villa San Francisco

The Hotel Villa San Francisco was delightfully charming with gracious and accommodating staff. The front patio, entry, and courtyard are well maintained and welcoming.

I actually liked the Hotel -- however the one complaint I had, was the Safari room, which we stayed. It was a fairly basic layout that served our needs. However,
1. The bathroom was in need of major repairs. The bath tub was "soft", suggesting rot directly under the tub. It was also stained and poorly kept. The shower curtain was about 3 years past usable, and absolutely should be replaced (burned).
2. The Queen Bed (main room) needs a new mattress. It is partially collapsed/tilting towards the floor on one side.

I did see into another room being made up, and it was clear the Safari room, may be the outlier. All-in-all, I enjoyed the Hotel.

Everyone was very attentive as we arrived. Very clean and we really enjoyed our stay. Will definitely book again while visiting Chapala.

Lake Chapala is a wonderful place to experience real Mexican culture. The food was delicious and the shopping was reasonably priced. The hotel had a good breakfast. The rooms were clean and the service was friendly. My husband and I had a wonderful couples massage for $80. We will definitely return.

There was not hot water in the room. The hot tub was ice cold.
The church rang there bells incessantly.

I liked everything.especially the people at the front desk and the Hollywood room. I will be back.

This hotel is on the one of the main streets in Chapala and directly across from the lake. It is charming and an older building with a large veranda on the front. It is here that one has breakfast and it overlooks the front garden and the road. The room was spacious and I had a king size bed. It was comfortable and I like a firm bed. Someone had been smoking in the washroom as there was a faint odor that I could detect every time I entered.
The staff was excellent and very attentive. Breakfast was as stated and omelets or eggs, pancakes etc. with coffee, juice and fruit. There is a small pool out back set in a spacious and well appointed garden area. There is also a small bar out back. I recommend this place but do not expect a Hilton or a Marriott. It is a quaint, nice hotel in a small town.

Good location. Mosquitos were a major problem. Inconsistent hot water in the shower, no hair conditioner, very cheap shampoo.

Great location across the street from the lake/outdoor shopping. No on-site parking, street parking only. My only complaint is that the room & bathroom could be cleaned better.

Wonderful hotel. Couldn’t ask for a better location. Very quiet, beautifully decorated rooms. Facing the water, they were very kind to my dog.

This place is quaint and charming. The staff are helpful and attentive. The pool is gorgeous. The room was still a good temperature without AC. I loved the fact it had an attached balcony to your room. Being able to get fresh air at hotel is underrated
