Absolutely AMAZING stay in the hide away huts at the Fish Hotel. From the moment you walk into reception it's clean and fresh. There are multiple relaxation areas with plenty of seating where you never feel crowded or squashed.
The hut itself was amazing and really cute. We walked into a cozy seating area. Nice touch the soft lighting was on and the radio playing giving an immediate warm welcome feeling. There was a shower room, which for the type of hut I must say the shower was awesome and quite powerful. Coupled with gorgeous good quality shower products.
The complementary mini fridge was stocked well and replaced daily and really appreciated the fresh mini bottles of milk and soya. Good touch!.
The bedroom area was actually quite spacious with a very comfy double bed and wow, a gorgeous roll top bath with soft lighting overlooking the outside wooded area. Again, quality bath products, robes and really soft thick, white towels. Then the hot tub area. LOVED this outside space. Again towels and robes provided but most importantly the 'buzz for booze" button reachable from inside the hot tub. There was a little confusion as to what drinks were actually available in the hot tub, but this was rectified by the on duty manager with exceptional first class service. Maybe a QR code would be helpful so clarity on drinks service is clear from the start.
The overall cleanliness of the hut was exceptional, and I simply cannot fault any aspect.
The communal areas as I said are vast. There are several veranda's to relax with amazing views of the grounds. All areas were spotless and the staff are friendly, professional and attentive without being over the top.
Food in the restaurant was very nice. We ate here and at the neighbor Dormey Hotel which I believe is linked to the fish hotel, both offering really good service and food options. We also walked into Broadway and ate at the Coach House Indian restaurant which I really do recommend. The Deli in Broadway served amazing Ploughman's lunch!
Overall, we had a Fantastic time here and cannot recommend The Fish -Specifically the hide away hut enough. Can not wait to return later this year.
Great location in a beautiful part of England
No air con in stable room and fan cooler in room not very good
Excellent dinner & breakfast, lovely free glass of welcome wine. Room well equipped. Passage too many fire doors.
Nice sitting areas outside. Views.
Directions to Reception, turning space in car parks.
The Hilly Hut was so cute and had everything you needed.the hot tub was great.
Amazing hotel! Beautiful views of the Cotswolds. Attention to fine details made all the difference. Overall, wonderful stay. Will return and definitely will recommend to others.
Beautiful location. Clean. Great staff. Small touches made all the difference ie: welcome note, radio playing, sofa bed made up, complimentary drinks. Amazing stay
We came to The Fish Hotel as a group of friends to catchup and have a meal together on the “feasting deck”.
I’ll start with the good. The lounge and bar area are lovely. Lots of nice areas to sit. The feasting deck meal was fantastic. We had a personal chef who prepared a selection of bbq meats and veg which was delicious and plentiful. The buffalo chicken and the salmon were my favourites. Everyone enjoyed it.
The hotel location is down a VERY long windy road which is very steep. The views from the hotel car park and grounds are spectacular of the Cotswolds but sadly you could not see the view from the hotel itself or restaurants due to trees.
The breakfast was good, though I’d asked for a side of black pudding and I got 1/2 of one slice which seemed quite measly considering it was an “all inclusive” breakfast. The room in the stables was nice and clean and the room came with a wine card so you could have 2 glasses of wine from a wine vending machine in the entrance to the rooms.
The not so good.
On arrival we walked up and down through the hotel a couple of times looking for the reception. We had passed a couple of members of staff who were chatting the whole time. We stopped to ask them where reception was to be told that they were reception. It is a casual informal reception, which would have been fine if the staff had been paying attention to see we were looking for it. Honestly the check in was not great as the vibe was not friendly, but rather a little pretentious and the staff did not apologise that we had been walking up and down for them.
The service at the bars was very slow and there was a general vibe of somewhere that thought a lot of itself, which I didn’t love. I have been to as nice places which treated guests more appreciatively and more genuinely welcoming.
The wine dispenser thing did not have any glasses and I called reception from the room to have some restocked but the phone rang for 2 minutes before anyone answered. I called again later to enquire about the WiFi and once again it took forever for someone to answer. I mentioned that I had been waiting for a long time and rather than receive an apology, the lady simply said “I was busy with a guest”. I would have expected a simple genuine apology.
On checkout I was asked how the stay was and I honestly said that the check in and slow service had marred our experience. The lady to her credit seemed to take my feedback on board and genuinely apologised. They took some drinks off the bill which was very appreciated and not why I had told them. It brought up my rating of the place from a 3 to a 4.
I would say this place could be really amazing if the staff were more genuine and attentive considering the very high price of staying and eating here.
I think overall, the property is beautiful, wonderful estate, and the hilly hut was perfect for a 3 day adventure in nature. Lots of beautiful nature trails, broadway is close with lots of shops, cafes and restaurants. My son had a great time doing the walking trails.
I don't think there is enough value in the proposition. While the estate is beautiful and this is pretty much the draw, there are no activities included, no padel courts or tennis courts, no pool, restaurants are decent but nothing to write home about but quite expensive for what it is. There are some activities but they are paid and the registration process is cumbersome - you can't just call someone, they make you register and pay online in advance. Some of the staff are pretty nonchalant, I think the experience can be much much better than what you get. It's easy to make people feel special but the front reception staff are quite cool and detached.

The hotel, views, surrounding areas were all so beautiful. The staff were attentive and friendly. Our room in the coach house was spacious and very comfortable. We ate and drank in the bar, which was great quality and reasonably priced. Breakfast was great the next morning. Overall couldn’t rave about this hotel enough, we’ll be back!
