Commendable but other options may be considered
Pros:

For art and history lovers, this is the perfect place as there is art in every corner and the hotel itself is an art. For those who are looking for better facilities, this is average. While I like the ambiance and the gracious staff, there are 2 big drawbacks, one is the noise that come from other rooms so you can only pray that you won't have noisy neighbors on your visit. On our first night, there are a lot of door banging and it was already 11 pm. My other friend on the upper floor was disturbed by the loud chatting in the hallway by the other room occupants late night. The second drawback is the breakfast, which lacks variety considering that the hotel is attracting tourists from different parts of the world. It doesn't have to be elaborate but at least the basic European or International breakfast should have been considered. I understand that we want to promote our local dishes and specialties but we need not impose it to our guests. In terms of location, this is a good choice, but considering that there are a number of hotels within the same area, you will not be lacking on options. As the price of the hotel is relatively higher than the others in the area, certain improvements will be appreciated.

A Slice of Paradise in Vigan – Unforgettable Perfection!
Pros:

Where do I even begin to describe the absolute perfection that is this hotel? From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was enveloped in an experience that can only be described as exceptional. Every single aspect, from the genuinely warm and welcoming front desk staff and attentive doorman to the exquisite culinary offerings and the breathtaking rooms, was simply flawless.

I had the distinct pleasure of staying in one of the lofted suites, and it was unequivocally one of the most magnificent accommodations I've ever encountered. The cleanliness was impeccable, the sense of space was liberating, and every conceivable amenity was thoughtfully provided. The downstairs bathroom was a sanctuary in itself – incredibly spacious, featuring a delightful tub perfect for soaking, a wonderfully invigorating shower, and ample, well-lit sink space. The living area was a haven of comfort, with a large, plush couch and generous room to unwind and relax after a day of exploring.

And then there was the upstairs lofted bedroom – an absolute dream. I adored retreating to this serene space, and the mattress was pure bliss, ensuring a perfect night's sleep.

Beyond the private sanctuary of the suite, the hotel continued to impress. The breakfast buffet was a delightful spread, offering a fantastic start to the day. The bar provided a tranquil spot for a quiet evening drink, and the upstairs area boasted simply wonderful views, adding another layer to the hotel's charm.

If you find yourself planning a trip to Vigan, look no further. This isn't just a place to stay; it's an experience to be cherished. Hands down, this is the best place you could possibly choose. Prepare to be amazed!

If Versailles had Wi-Fi, bubblegum toothpaste, and high-tech toilets, it’d be Hotel Luna
Pros:

Oh, dear, you think you’ve seen luxury, huh? Let me just pop your little "I’ve been to five-star hotels" bubble with something that’ll make you realize your entire life was a vividly underwhelming slideshow before Hotel Luna. Welcome to the hotel that has been given the grace to not just take your breath away — it kidnaps it, makes it sign a non-disclosure agreement, and then hands it back to you with a side of pandesal and tablea hot chocolate. Trust me, you will never be the same again.

First things first, let me tell you that Hotel Luna is a trap - and I mean that in the most endearing way possible. You walk in, all smug and cynical, thinking, "Oh, I bet this is just some quaint little antique hotel". Well, guess what? You’re wrong. You're dead wrong. The lobby? Cute, sure, like a beautiful older woman who's been around, knows what she's doing, and doesn't need to show it. And then they hand you this white keycard, but — oh, wait — they didn’t just hand it to you. No. They placed it in a luxurious key card sleeve. Not even a regular key card holder, but the kind of holder you imagine should contain a miniature signature from a French billionaire who knows how to inspect a painting. It has a small artwork in front of it! That's how beautiful it was.

Then they lead you to your room, and buckle your seatbelt, because this isn’t a "room" as much as it is a soul-altering experience. It’s like they took the Vatican, threw in a dash of Versailles, and sprinkled some contemporary luxury on top like it’s no big deal. The walls? Wow. The floors? They’re polished, I could see my future happiness reflected in them. And then the Lord makes you realise: You’re not just staying here. You’re living here. At least for the next couple of days. Welcome to your personal slice of heaven where everything is just grace and would show you a glimpse of divine glory.

Now, let’s talk about the toilet. And not just any toilet, friend, but a toilet so advanced it’s basically the Elon Musk of bathroom tech. This isn't a toilet that merely flushes — this is the kind of toilet that makes you feel like you’ve been knighted. It’s got more buttons than an airline cockpit, and each one has a function that’ll make you rethink every toilet experience you’ve ever had. It'll made me think - am I in Tokyo or in Vigan? Heated seat? Check. Cleaning function that makes you feel like royalty? Absolutely. And don’t you dare tell me Marriott has this — because if you sit on this throne, you will declare your loyalty to Hotel Luna, and the rest of the world’s toilets will just feel… sad.

But hold up. Are you sitting down? I hope you’re sitting down, because it only gets better from here. If you thought this was a five-star hotel for posh people, let me shatter your delusions. There’s an acoustic band playing ballads. Yes, ballads, my dear. Don’t even try to tell me you don't love a smooth ballad that feels like it's massaging your soul. I thought I hated acoustic music. Turns out, the only thing I hate is missing out on acoustic music performed at Hotel Luna. The lead male singer? A smooth operator whose voice was used by the Lord to convict me of the truth that this is overwhelming grace. There I was, weeping into my bubblegum-flavoured toothpaste. No, you didn’t misread that. Bubblegum-flavored toothpaste.

Let me repeat this: Bubblegum-flavoured toothpaste. I don’t even care if you're an adult. If you don’t think that’s the most life-changing experience to hit your gums since… well, since ever, then I don't even know who you are anymore. It's a literal sign from the Lord that this hotel was crafted specifically for me, even if I'm unworthy. And I will thank the Lord every day for guiding me here. Nevermind that I think Luna was a horrible person. This hotel is amazing.

Now, I know what you're thinking: "Alright, alright, so the toilet’s fancy, the music is nice, and there’s bubblegum toothpaste. But what about the food?" Sweetie, let me drop this culinary truth bomb on you: You don’t just get food. You get an experience. I walked into their breakfast area, and it was like the entire world paused to hand me hot tablea chocolate that made me question every cup of hot chocolate I’ve ever had. I don’t know what kind of stuff they put in this stuff, but it was like liquid gold, and if I had known this when I was single, I would've taken a sip from their cup before walking down the aisle. Oh, and did I mention that the coffee was endless? Like the manager was secretly in the back, ready to do a private espresso ceremony just for me, whenever I needed a refill. And it wasn't acidic! It's like the Lord orchestrated for them to consult my gastroenterologist before I was prompted to check in. Forget the ham. Forget the eggs. All I wanted was that divine hot chocolate and some pandesal, and I didn’t care what time it was. If I could’ve been buried in this hot chocolate for eternity, I would’ve done it.

Then, just when I thought it couldn’t get better, they hit me with the dinner buffet. Now, don’t get too excited. This isn’t the kind of buffet where they’ve thrown 1,000 dishes together just to make you question your life decisions. No, no, no. This is a curated buffet. A buffet that respects itself. They have you confirm your reservation despite you paying for it beforehand (a mild inconvenience), print your name on a card, and seat you like you're at an exclusive dinner party, not a glorified buffet. And as you feast on delicacies that make you forget what spaghetti is, you sip on wine and think, "Is this my new life now?" The answer is yes, yes it is.

And then there’s the rooftop. It’s a rooftop, sure, but it’s also a party in the clouds. Champagne in hand, fireworks lighting up the sky, and live music that makes you forget you're not actually in a 90s music video. I don’t know who booked this event, but I’m assuming it was some sort of divine intervention because at that moment, I was perfectly content. Not only am I living my best life undeservedly, I'm living it on a rooftop in Vigan, surrounded by my family, and everyone is fully aware that the Lord is the star in all of this.

And did I mention there's a museum inside the hotel? Don’t worry, I know you're thinking, "Sure, cool, a museum, how quaint." But this isn't your average "dusty-old-painting-that-you-pretend-to-understand" museum. This is an actual museum filled with real art, the kind of art that makes you feel important just by standing in front of it. The kind of art that makes you realize that Vigan isn't just a quaint little town; it’s a treasure chest that's been hiding in plain sight.

So, if you’re not booking a room at Hotel Luna, I need you to stop reading this and start making some life decisions. You need to understand that this isn’t just a hotel; it’s a revelation. An enlightenment. A total rebranding of what luxury can be.

There are good hotels, there are great hotels, and then there’s Hotel Luna —a hotel so dramatically awesome because of grace it made me forget ten years of incorrect opinion that Vigan is boring. If this is what Vigan’s been hiding, consider me converted. Fully. Enthusiastically. Possibly for the rest of the earthly life.

And now I must go. Because the memory of that rooftop party just hit me again, and I need a moment to pretend I’m still there. In my white bathrobe. With my tablea. Listening to that butter-voiced singer soothe my spoiled little soul, while praising and thanking the Lord for this underserved grace.

Nice enough but nothing special
Pros:

The main building is attractive with all the verandahs and a Spanish look to it but the hotel itself doesn't have much in the way of facilities that a bigger, flashier hotel would have.
However, the main draw is its location and you are right off the main old town street for shopping, restaurants and a handy supermarket across the way.

A Charming Hotel in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur (Philippines)
Pros:

Hotel Luna is a beautiful, modest-sized hotel in Vigan City (Ilocos Sur, Philippines). It's ideal for couples and families looking for comfortable accommodation close to local attractions. The beds are very comfortable and relaxing. The customer service can still be improved, though.

One of the strangest hotel experiences we’ve ever had.
Pros:

There’s no doubt that Hotel Luna is one of the best, if not the best, hotels in Vigan. It’s not our first time visiting this historic place—in fact, we travel to Vigan two to three times a year, often spending a day or more there. However, this was our first time staying at Hotel Luna, as we noticed their rates had dropped on Agoda. Unfortunately, this turned out to be one of the strangest hotel experiences we’ve ever had.

We booked a room in their annex building, which is located across the busy Quirino Boulevard (a street away from their Main Hotel). Parking was a challenge, as the hotel lot was full, and we ended up paying ₱300 to park at the nearest pay parking area. Dropping off my wife and daughter at the hotel was also difficult, as I had to stop in the middle of the busy road to let them check in while I searched for parking.

The annex is not ideal for families with young children due to the need to cross the bustling street. That said, the hotel itself is beautiful—restored and refined old houses from the Spanish era, which is characteristic of Vigan. The lounge on the second floor near our room was stunning, with polished wooden floors, elegant furniture, and paintings adorning the walls.

Our room, however, had no windows, which made me feel claustrophobic and contributed to a poor night’s sleep. Despite this, the room’s interior was impressive, with wooden floors, a marble bathroom, classy fixtures, and complete amenities: efficient air conditioning, strong WiFi, a smart TV, a working desk (important for us), and twin beds for our family of four. The hot water in the shower was consistently warm, which was very relaxing.

However, the ambiance, while elegant, felt unsettling during our stay. Our 2-year-old daughter kept looking under the beds repeatedly throughout our stay. Despite our efforts to stop her, there were moments when she would even lie down next to the bed.

We had just traveled from Pagudpud, enjoyed an hour-long walk through Calle Crisologo, and returned to our room to rest. We ordered dinner through Grab, put the kids to bed, and prepared for a quiet night. Early the next morning, however, our daughter began vomiting severely, roughly every hour or two. We ruled out food poisoning since our 5-year-old son, who ate the same food, was completely fine.

While she continued to vomit, she persistently looked under the bed, which added to our unease. My wife and I didn’t sleep at all, and we eventually contacted our pediatrician for advice. At one point, we considered admitting her to the hospital, but with no available doctors, we decided against it. We focused on keeping her hydrated with small amounts of Pocari Sweat and monitored her condition closely.

What stood out was the strange and unpleasant feeling my wife mentioned when she and our daughter first checked in. While we are a logical, Catholic family and don’t believe in superstitions, we couldn’t help but feel uneasy. During our trip, we had stopped at Apo Caridad and Bantayan Tower Church to pray and light candles, which gave us some peace of mind.

By around noon as we left Vigan, our daughter suddenly started to feel better. Her condition improved dramatically, and she was fine by the time we reached our next destination.

Our pediatrician was surprised by her quick recovery, as she showed no signs of illness after the incident.

This experience left us baffled and unsettled. While we don’t want to jump to conclusions, it was one of the most unusual stays we’ve ever had.

How would you like to stay in a museum
Pros:

We stayed at room 201 and was a wonderful experience. Beautiful room and bathroom.
The clatter and sound of the tricycles, kalesa and people in the morning or late at night is the only disturbance that we know of but it's not deal breaker.
The staff are very accommodating and respectful.
Very good location.

Hotel with character in the heart of historic Vigan!
Pros:

We stayed two nights and had a mixture of good and "less good" experiences. The most immediately appealing aspect of the hotel is the historic nature of the building and the neat quirks of the structure. The owners have also generously displayed some of their art collection, including a fabulous work by Juan Luna and a nice piece by Amorsolo. The location, right in the center of the historic district, is perfect. Less appealing, our room was rather small and had a terrible smell when we first arrived (the staff did follow-up cleaning and the smell improved but still remained rather musty. The shower was good. The breakfast choices were nice. Overall, the staff were attentive and caring. Ms. Clarizze, who served us breakfast, was fantastic and even made a special salad for me for breakfast when she realized I wasn't too excited by the regular options.

Absolutely Stunning
Pros:

I have received positive feedback from my family. My family went to Luna Hotel and they've been looked after by a lovely Front Office Officer named Aiza (Not sure abut the spelling). She is so kind, knowledgeable, accommodating and easy to communicate with. Knowing that I booked that all the way from Australia for my family I wasn't expecting anything since this is just a sudden booking. All the staff including the bellman. receptionist, housekeeping team were really amazing!! This Hotel has lots to offer! From their iconic Museum to the Spanish style room, This is memorable experience to my family. Above all, I would like to thank, Aiza for her amazing performance as your receptionist. She is an absolute asset to the team. If you ever get to stay in this gorgeous hotel, please request for her! Thank you, Luna Hotel.

Enchanting art museum and boutique hotel in heart of Vigan
Pros:

Enjoyed our 2day stay at the enchanting Hotel Luna in the heart of Vigan. Here’s what we like and thoughts on improvement:

1. Service. Staff are prompt in service and welcoming. There is always someone who will open the door and there is a pleasant scent throughout lobby. Ice is complimentary and so is water via the dispenser.

2. Art museum. The hotel conserves and manages a small but curated artworks of modern Filipino artists. The experience begins in the lobby and you can view outstanding art pieces from Bencab to younger artists in paintings and sculptures. There’s more in the common dining area as well as a larger collection upstairs.

Hotel Luna is named after Juan Luna, you can view his bust featured prominently at the swimming pool albeit an odd location. Art lovers and historians will find this is a destination by itself.

3. Room. We got a queen bed on the second floor. It can be quite noisy as the swimming pool is below and there are noises from the waterfall feature. Ask for a room on the top floor or if budget permits, stay at the suites or executive rooms at the museum wing.

Love the remote control of the toilet bowl!

4. Breakfast. The common dining area needs a good clean as the air stinks of the spices. We walk pass this area to the room so it’s a downer when the lobby is so pleasant and when the door opens to the dining area, there’s an unwelcoming stench.

It’s a rare opportunity to have breakfast in an art gallery so take time to savour the timeless art pieces.

Overall, a lovely art museum within a boutique hotel. Centrally located in Vigan, it is enchanting, charming and convenient to many places of interest within Vigan.

Amazing overnight stay!
Pros:

We came upon this beautiful hotel while visiting the city. We stayed one night. It’s located in the heart of Vigan City walking distance to local attractions. We had no reservations but the staff were very welcoming and accommodating - even with a last minute request for a massage in the evening. Rooms were clean with modern features.

We had dinner in one of their restaurants called Comedor. They had a variety of food to select from (reviewed separately). After dinner, we had a night cap at Azotea. Though we were too late to see the sunset from there, it was still an amazing view from the rooftop terrance. They even offered a complementary buffet breakfast which had plentiful of options.

Great experience and would highly recommend!
