Really enjoyed our time in York. Would recommend the hotel.
Pros:

Staff were excellent, helpful and friendly. The room was comfortable and breakfasts lovely. The position of the Hotel is first class, a lovely area and a short walk into the city. The evening meal must be great as it was fully booked the two nights we were there.

Wat een lieve mensen werken hier
Pros:

Wat een lief en meedenkend personeel! Niks is ze te gek. Wij kwamen aan met onze auto maar er was nergens parkeerplek. Gelijk kwam er een medewerker om ons een plek verderop in de wijk aan te wijzen waar onze auto veilig kon staan. Echt heel fijn.
Toen wij er zaten was het ruim 32 graden en ik was lichtelijk oververhit. We kregen een groot glas sparkling water en er kwam iemand aan met een hand ventilator, zodat ik kon afkoelen. Echt Fantastisch lief een medelevend!
Het hotel zelf ziet er gezellig en sfeervol uit met een Laurel & Hardy thema. De kamer zelf was echt prima. De badkamer verdient wel een upgrade maar we konden er prima douchen.
Het ontbijt was echt heel erg goed. We zijn 16 dagen naar de UK geweest maar hier werden wij het meeste verwend wat ontbijt betreft. Heerlijk om aan tafel bediend te worden en je kon nog zelf aanpassingen maken, mocht je iets anders willen dan wat er op het menu stond. Echt heel fijn.
Ook de afstand naar het centrum van York is echt te lopen. Zo'n 20 minuten.
Mochten wij ooit weer naar York gaan, dan verblijven wij zeker in Wheatland Lodge!

Nice Hotel in York
Pros:

The area downstairs and the drink on arrival was good when travelling for 2hrs, friendly staff

Cons:

Size of bed in room 7 also bed sides quite dangerous,but bed was comfy, next time we'll ask for twin beds

Wouldn’t hesitate to stay at Wheatlands lodge again. A really lovely experience
Pros:

The breakfast was very good. Everything perfectly cooked! The location to get to the city centre was really good. Just a short walk to the centre and a very pleasant one at that. The staff at the hotel were incredibly helpful and went out of their way to make it feel like a home from home.

Cons:

The bathroom was definitely on the tired side. It would benefit from a new shower area at some point.

Convenient location, excellent breakfast service
Pros:

Great location to bus or walk into town. Highlight was the lady on day shift at front desk helping with parking and breakfast service staff who during a busy period with a bus tour kept things moving and we didn’t wait long at all to order or be served. Breakfast selection and quality was very good. On site parking was a bonus albeit very tight and difficult with a mid to lager vehicle. Some character rooms to sit around downstairs. The front lawn was lovely with outdoor seating but a bit of scaffolding up on the fascia when we visited.

Cons:

We were given an upstairs room, up many flights which would be very difficult for older people. Thankfully we only took overnight items up and not a suitcase, we would have struggled. The ceiling in the bathroom over the toilet sloped inwards and didn’t allow a 6’ person to stand unencumbered. The narrow bath made showering difficult. The whole room was a bit cosy for us…the TV is too small to be useful.
