Enjoyable stay ideal location and homely rather than corporate and cold
Pros:

Friendly homely feel staff welcoming lovely breakfast

Cons:

Bathroom could do with updating wasnt overseen on a shower curtain but it was clean

Cons:

Mattress very uncomfortable my back hurt the following morning. The basin in the bathroom appeared to be blocked. Our room was next to the bar very noisy with bingo and quiz night.

Enjoyable stay with lovely food.
Pros:

The breakfasts were lovely, the waiting time was minimal. All staff were friendly and the location was within 20 mins walking distance from the centre. The rooms were nice and clean.

Cons:

The beds weren't very comfortable and the pillows were flat and a bit hard.

Beautiful homely and friendly.
Pros:

The hotel is beautiful, clean, and very homely and comfortable. The staff are so helpful and friendly, the food is beautifully cooked, i really enjoyed my stay.

Cons:

The only thing i didnt like was not being able to stay longer,, i will be booking to stay here again when i next go to York

Fabulous place for a comfortable, relaxing stay minutes away from York centre.
Pros:

Lovely, traditional hotel with large rooms and lots of comfortable lounge areas. Our room had a bath, which was a treat. The room was very warm and cosy. Breakfast was amazing, staff came round with plates of croissants while were eating. Staff in general were very friendly and helpful. York centre was an easy 15 minute walk away.

Cons:

Bed was slightly too soft for our liking, but that’s a matter of preference.

Location was close to where we needed.
The hotel was clean and comfortable; breakfast excellent.

Cons:

We needed our car during our stay but were seriously misled about parking. Hotel parking is difficult to access and permanently full. On street parking is available if you are prepared to walk 100yards with your luggage (but okay if you are a coach party).
No lift available to upper floors.
Staff were friendly and helpful but hard to find.

Beautiful hotel wonderful staff
Pros:

I chose this place for a job trip as interested in staying at a more traditional 'family' hotel and most staff is indeed wonderful. I had an issue with the traffic noise in my room and a blonde lady at the reception went really far and beyond to help find a suitable quiet and more spacious room without any surcharge. I also loved the breakfast a la carte with delicious vegetarian alternatives and again wonderful service. The hall with Christmas decorations was very beautiful and would definitely come back.
