Tropical Resort Langkawi

I had a very pleasant stay at Tropical Resort Langkawi. The location is perfect—just a short walk from the beautiful Pantai Tengah beach and close to shops, restaurants, and convenience stores. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and surrounded by lush greenery, giving a peaceful, relaxing vibe. The staff is friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist with local guidance. The pool area is well maintained and adds to the resort’s calm atmosphere. It’s an ideal place for couples, families, or anyone looking for a quiet escape near the beach. Great value for money, and I would happily stay here again.

I booked a 38 m² deluxe room, clearly advertised. What I was given was a space of barely 20 m², including the bathroom. Even the “smaller” categories they advertise (25 m²) are misleading, since this room was clearly much less.

When I raised the issue, the only “solution” offered was breakfast – something I never booked or wanted. The manager then argued that I had chosen a king-size bed and therefore had to accept this room. That logic is unacceptable: square meters are not optional extras.

What shocked me most was the manager’s behavior. Instead of taking responsibility, he repeatedly said “women like you are a problem” and even told me “I don’t want to have you here.”
As a paying guest, this level of disrespect is beyond unprofessional.

I am grateful the Booking platform recognized the misrepresentation and issued a refund, but this should never have happened. Travelers deserve honesty, transparency, and basic respect.

My return visit was as wonderful as the first six months ago. Tropical Resort has a relaxed natural setting, with neat, clean and spacious rooms. Rest in the pool, walk along the path to the beach, admire the local wildlife, relax in the library or the pool, visit the many restaurants, spas and duty free shops literally next door or across the road. The staff are friendly and helpful. Simple but fabulous. It’s our go-to place to stay on Langkawi. We love it there.

Wonderful resort. Beautiful spacious and comfortable rooms, right on the beach and with a really lovely pool to relax by. Wifi worked perfectly and staff were friendly. Could not fault my stay one single bit. Great location, near some lovely restaurants and a short walk to the main tourist town area.

We had a truly relaxing and comfortable stay at Tropical Resort Langkawi. The resort is surrounded by lush, vibrant tropical plants 🌺, creating a calm and beautiful atmosphere. Guests are friendly and often greet each other — such a nice community vibe!

🧹 Spotlessly clean – the staff were always kind and helpful, keeping our room and the entire resort area spotless every day. It really felt like a home away from home. 🏡

🏊‍♂️ The central pool is a perfect place to relax — guests were sunbathing, chatting quietly, or reading by the pool. So peaceful.

🌊 A small hidden path behind the resort takes you through greenery to Pantai Tengah, a quiet, clean white sand beach. In the evenings, there are local BBQ stalls along the shore.

🚕 For more action, Pantai Cenang is just a short RM4–5 Grab ride away — perfect for shopping, water sports, food, cafes, and duty-free stores.

☕️ Right next door is Top Kopi, a great café for meals and desserts.
🥘 About a 15-minute walk brings you to Selera Lubuk Buaya, a local spot serving fresh seafood and delicious Malay-Thai fusion dishes at good prices.

在Tropical Resort Langkawi度过了一段非常舒服自在的假期。整个度假屋环境幽静优美，热带植物生机盎然，处处散发着放松的氛围。泳池位于园区中央，是一大特色，许多住客安静地泡在水里晒太阳、聊天或看书，气氛祥和。

员工服务亲切又专业，每天都把房间和周围环境打扫得一尘不染，让人有回到家的感觉。住客之间也会微笑打招呼，令人感受到温暖与友善。

从度假屋后方一条小路穿过小树林，几分钟就能走到干净宁静的Pantai Tengah白沙滩。想体验热闹的海滩，打车到Pantai Cenang也只需马币4-5元，那里适合喜欢热闹、购物、美食和水上活动的游客。

附近吃的也很方便，隔壁就是Top Kopi咖啡厅，三餐甜点都很棒；步行15分钟还能到Selera Lubuk Buaya，海鲜新鲜，融合本地与泰式风味，价格合理。

真心推荐这个地方，舒适、自然又便利，是理想的度假选择。感恩这里的一切！

Wonderful stay , respectful and friendly staff who were always already ready to help , clean rooms and great location. I had a wonderful time staying here and felt all my needs were met . The pool is fantastic and adds to the charm of staying at tropical resort . The location is great as you can go to various restaurants around the area and the beech too which is a short walk from the hotel . I will definitely be staying here the next time I come back to langkawi

Highly recommend this hotel as a base for exploring Langkawi, taking time to relax and enjoy the nature of the island.

This place is a little paradise! No luxury, but a small and quiet resort, just like I prefer it. All the rooms are situated in little houses around the pool, and from the back garden, where you have some lying chairs, you just walk to the beach, that you have mainly for yourself. The breakfast is nice and is served to your terrace. The rooms are big and comfortable (if other reviews give critics I think it's because they are used to big 4 or 5 star resorts). Only the bed linen could be a bit more comfortable. But for me this place was perfect to end my trip through Malaysia in the most relaxing way!

Booked this hotel for 3 nights and ended up spending 2 weeks there. They're all little cottages around a wonderful pool, ours looked at the back, to the little path to the beach so you had a glimpse of the sea and amazing sunset. The housekeeping staff is very attentive especially Helmy, cleans your room every day,change towels, bottles of water, toilet paper and toiletries every day, the gardens always looked after, the receptionist Fika, very friendly and helpful, Pantai tengah is a short walk to Pantai cenang so much quieter and the island is duty free, would recommend this hotel to anyone who's looking for a hotel by the beach. Only 2 star but 4 star service.

Beautiful little place, the cottages are situated around the swimming pool and every cottage has some green in front for privacy. Behind the cottages is a sand path that takes you to the beach, a communal outdoor shower it available there as well. The resort has a small library/book exchange. Staff is very helpful to book tours.
Restaurants are across and a little bit up the road, a laundromat and 7/11 is a 4 minute walk.
Please try their warm Malay breakfasts, they are delicious.

Lovely little resort with a great pool to cool off in. Our room was just right, a close walk to the beach or out to the street. Easy to get around and lots of restaurants and shops nearby. The staff were lovely and very helpful.

Worst place ever!!!!
We booked two rooms for 4 nights, left after the first night. Backpacker hostels would be even better, how people can give high ratings is unbelievable. Our bedroom: aircon is not working, fan rusty and dirty, get one towel for pool, beach and shower, no lock. Our guests room: shower not working, dirty room, cockroach, fan like ours. Both rooms no bed sheets, only bed covers.
Went to reception and complained about the state of the rooms. Absolutely no interest, no comments just sitting there like a cutout board. We left after the first night. Pool dirty and the whole resort is run down, surprised anyone staying at this resort. Do yourself a favor and don't even consider staying there

We only stayed one night before flying out to Penang. We had a room opposite the pool. The pool was nice for a swim. The room was basic but clean. Aircon worked well. Breakfast was very average. I wouldn't pay extra for it. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Beach access via a path behind the hotel is only a short walk away.

I stayed for 2 nights with my friends, this is my second time stayed at this resort. The room and bathroom are clean and we really appreciate how clean the bathroom is. One of the rooms that we stayed had issue with the faucet, they fixed it instantly. For the rooms we have nothing much to complaint about everything is superb. Only the lady staff at the reception was not really friendly. We also love the location with easy access to the beach

The breakfast was so-so compared to my last stay in 2017, we finally went to nearby local stalls for our breakfast.

This is not a resort. The rooms are modern and clean. Aircon, fridge and bed ate fine. The staff are nice and helpful. Breakfast was ok. There is no restaurant, but great restaurants are across the road..
Nice gardens. It's best to hire a local to act as a guide to take you around.

This is a lovely little hotel, great pool and beach access. Rooms are nice enough but could be upgrades with a few fancier design elements. Staff who were checking rooms were friendly as was the AM receptionist who was doing check outs. The PM receptionists were aloof and not so pleasant which didn’t give a great first impression. Location is ideal close enough to Cenang to walk, far away enough to be quiet.

Room was ok and the pool and access to the beach are a plus.
Unfortunately the stay was ruined by a rude manager who tried telling me the room security deposit was subject to the island tourism tax... absolutely false
Also, no receptacle adapter for foreign guests and no blanket on the bed-just a thin sheet.
Disappointing.
