Was here as a stop on a tour through Morocco. Came back from a day trip to find my room unlocked and a pair of earrings missing. No help from hotel staff in fact hey went through my things as though I was lying. In the end, no resolution.
Overall staff were rude and cold and indifferent. Rooms outdated and poorly outfitted. Common areas lack toilet paper etc. I stayed in room #414.
Lock your thongs, even the non-valuables. Thieves!
Would not recommend.
We arrived around 23:00 the receptionist didn’t have any record of our reservation (we booked way ahead).we had our reservation printed out with us and receptionist didn’t try to help we waited 1:30 to enter the room . Entering the room could be described as our nightmare bed linen was yellow inside of white . It had awful sewage smell, bathroom hasn’t been cleaned for at least couple of months
The room is very basic. It doesn’t even have a small table nor a chair to sit on, which was very annoying. The hotel is located in a busy area and in the rooms you hear much noise from people and traffic outside. It’s not a very safe area.
The worst thing of the rooms is that they’re extremely cold, close to freezing point. You have to try and get th room warm with the heating (which is the same unit as the air conditioner) but that way you have constant wind blowing into the room, which isn’t pleasant. Also the dining room is extremely cold and you have to keep your jacket on while eating there.
WiFi is okay. There is only one French channel on the television, no other European channels and the tv is functioning poorly.
Rooms are clean. The thing that isn’t very hygienic is that there are real blankets on the bed and because of the cold you do have to use the blankets, otherwise you’ll freeze.
The doors of the rooms are old and broken and have huge holes in them. When you are in the hall you can easily look into the rooms through the wholes in the doors, which doesn’t make you feel very safe.
There is no safe in the room nor a hair dryer. You can borrow a hair dryer from reception.
People at reception are friendly.
Breakfast buffet didn’t offer that much choice. Dinner was okay.
Simple, modern and clean hotel, with spacious room. Efficient staff.
Room have all amenities, some with balcony.
Thought the room was facing the street, it was pretty quiet.
Network has a very bad coverage and speed, non-existent in the room.
Location for exploration is perfect!
Stayed 2 nights as part of a tour, and have also stayed 2 nights in 2014.
Not much changed.!
Very quirky décor and design, relic of a bygone age when inhabited by British diplomats. Steps up to bathroom ,sunken bath. Separate toilet.
Heating worked fine. Spare blanket available. Normal size single bed, firm, comfortable
Swimming pool inviting (but not in December!) clean and in good repair but I do not remember a noisy bar with giant TV ,lights and noise adjoining it on the patio area.
My 3rd floor room overlooked the street, but I could still hear noise from this bar. I heard the café opposite packing up chairs and sweeping late night, and again putting it all out early morning, deliveries and street cleaners at dawn. Oh, and the muezzin. This every day hustle and bustle acceptable and somewhat interesting, the bar /TV noise totally unacceptable and incongruous.
Breakfast meagre and uninteresting. Did include basics: olives (processed )cheese ,cucumber, tomato ,bread. Weak coffee. Presume better offerings in high season???? Lacked a warm soup or porridge type option.
It's really horrible hotel no hot water and big PB when I want go eat my breakfast he told me no I can't because I don't told him I want breakfast and I pay 50€ for room he make me so angry front my wife so it's more better than book in this hotel no good
Central indeed. A close copy of a ryad, okay but very spartan decorated rooms. There is a bed! No tables no chairs - not even at the spacious balcony (which in my perspective is foolish)
The bathroom has a submerged bathtub which makes it unsuitable for people with physical disabilities or just as I, bad legs and hips. Toilet is separated by itself. BUT - and that is a huge BUT - the bar is as the 2nd floor and they play music until 2 AM!!! So ask for rooms at the 3rd or 1st and as far out in the sides as possible. This is a hopeless element!!
Beautiful hotel in authentic Maroccain style. The employees are wonderful. Really nice people, from the waiter to the hotelmanager. They really make you feel welcome, explain everything in excellent English and are very open. You can ask anything. The food is really good. We got spoiled with real tasty food. If we are coming to Fes again, we will definitely stay at this hotel!
When you have a room facing the bar you will have a lot of noise from it, but it closes around 23h. We went on a tour in a group., this included dinner. The food was not really bad, but certainly not great either. The WiFi doesn’t work everywhere in the rooms, but worked great in the public areas. Very close tho the beautiful gate Bab Boujloud.
I stayed at Hotel Batha for 2 nights as part of a tour. It's a rambling large hotel. I had a good size room with balcony overlooking main street, a bit noisy but not too bad. Air con not in use but not needed. Very dated – sky blue sanitary ware. Wifi patchy. Hotel had a disco (didn’t disturb me) in the “British lounge & Churchill room”!
We had a newly refurbished room which was good but lacked a few finishing touches like hooks to hang the towels on, others in the group had older bathrooms. The hotel is currently being refurbished. The WiFi worked well.
The hotel has an outside bar, called the British Saloon, which shows football matches and then has a DJ playing music until midnight. This was quite busy but a real noise problem for most rooms. The bar staff we found to be uninterested and insisted that we pay for each drink as we had it and we HAD to pay with the correct money, they did not make locals who came in do this.
I stayed here two nights with my family as part of a guided tour group. The visit started well, as the staff were very friendly. We also enjoyed the pool (fresh!). The hotel is also really well situated near the medina and lots of restaurants
Unfortunately though the hotel has a bit too many rough features to recommend for a family. The most obvious issue is that the bar in the building is very loud (even mid-week) and the sound carries all the way to the 4th floor (where we were sleeping). The hotel rooms were pretty spartan, with only a minimum amount of toilet paper, and no extra touches (e.g. no garbage pail in the room - we found one in the hall!). The "buffet" breakfast at the hotel was also very basic - much less than what is available at other hotels I tried. Also, you need to ask for a controller for the AC and TV. It wasn't in the room when we got there.
I think this hotel needs to decide what it wants to be - a bar or a hotel!
Room was small but clean. Convenient, Walkable, ok breakfast Not working TV. Overall good stay. Check-in went very well. Front desk staff spoke English. As usual to Morocco suggested guide to visit Medina (we went in to Medina using Google - fine.)
Room is alright except no carpeted, will be cold if you don't have any footwear.
No hot water in the morning before 6 am.
No WIFI in the room. If needed, need to come out from the room and stay in the common hall.
Open concept.
Staff are friendly.
le batiment est vétuste et aurait besoin d'une sérieuse rénovation
I didn’t stay in this Hotel but the Bar on the first floor is a great place to chill with drinks at reasonable prices. Staff are very friendly and Music is great. Drinks are very reasonable especially at Happy Hour. I can’t comment on the Hotel itself but the Bar is worth a visit for a nice cold Beer.
Close to all the amenities. Excellent location
Bathrooms would benefitwith update
Very run down no toiletries little toilet roll! No hot water. Best thing flag special happy hour. Pool murky no facilities
The reception always told a lie. First told you that you had not pay. After you confirmed that you paid on line. Second told you that you booked two rooms only paid one room. Third told you that you only booked one room. After the long time on the confirmation of booking, he only registered one room members but gave you two room keys. When you took two keys and intended to head room, he asked you for the others. All the way told the tie and asked you to pay more.
