Exceptional cleanliness in all areas, friendly and efficient staff, great food and service, right on seafront, outstanding value for money.

Friendly staff, clean and decent breakfast

This was stated as a 3 star hotel, i would give it a 4 star. The breakfast and evening meal were excellent and very tasty. They kindly moved us from a room with shower to a room with a bath. Lovely fluffy towels. This hotel is very good value for money. There is only about 6 parking spaces at the hotel,although you are Allowed to park in the carpark across the road free of charge.

Room not ready on arrival. Didnt know tea tray was in a cupboard, found out when I commented at check out! .They could have told us or put a notice in room!

Our stay at this hotel ( staff/ cleanliness/ food ) was excellent in every way EXCEPT the room.

Room 7 was cramped with old worn out furniture. The 'shower room' was the smallest I have ever seen. Sitting on the toilet your head is in the WHB!!!!!

Food excellent , quiet area but convenient for beach , shops and bars.

Staff were very friendly and food was good. Rooms were fine but curtains etc dated.

Liked bar and restaurant area close to town centre free parking

I had a good stay at the hotel but the room I was in needs some decoration as there was a stain on the carpet and walls need a paint. My evening meal was very good and would recommend m.

We were in Ayr for a family wedding and had arranged to meet family members for dinner so did not have the opportunity to dine in the hotel’s restaurant, however we had breakfast on two occasions and both times the food, service and staff were excellent. Internet access was ok, to was fairly basic and beds were extremely hard and lumpy

I have stayed at the Horizon a good few times and its always the same great wee hotel with lovely staff and very clean and reasonable priced

When booked not to be told there is attic rooms that the lift do not reach ! Then toilet broke and no other rooms left so had to travel home at 1230 at night with my 10 year old son who has disabilities

The room was, especially the en-suite in a poor state of repair.
No toilet roll holder
Toilet didn’t flush properly, did report it but nothing done about it.
Bathroom door was split and warped from water damage
The edge of the floor next to the skirtings was all worn with gaps which would make cleaning difficult and potentially unhygienic.
Ceiling very slopped in bathroom and bedroom so a few bumped heads.

Lots of rules pinned up, fine of £30 for clogging toilet with anything other than toilet paper, in the information book in the room it’s £50

Amazing location. I think we were just unlucky with our room, would stay again but not in a loft room

The hotels location is excellent. Our room was big enough for 2 adults 1 child and a dog. The decor could be improved in the room quite dated but overall we would come back again.
