Hampton Inn Brooklyn Downtown

The hotel was great in a wonderful location, super clean and easy access to lower Manhattan and Brooklyn. But what really puts this over the top is the staff. They truly went above and beyond to make my stay great. They reached out personally via email before my stay began and when I responded with some questions, they wrote back immediately. They accommodated my early check in request and I arrived just after breakfast had finished but Ki ran right into the back and made me a plate with a fabulous bagel, cream cheese and a banana and another staff member helped me roll my bags into the elevator when he saw me struggling to get my key card with the food and my bags. They were really what made the stay great. I will definitely stay again when I’m back.

Le petit déjeuner est correct, avec un choix varié pour tous les goûts. Il n’y a pas vraiment de changement d’un jour à l’autre, mais l’offre reste suffisante pour satisfaire aussi bien les envies salées que sucrées. Tout est présenté en format jetable, ce qui peut surprendre, mais cela semble s’inscrire dans une logique de gestion plus légère du service, assez courante au USA.

La chambre est tout à fait correcte : propre, spacieuse, avec une grande salle de douche et deux grands lits king size comme demandé. Il y a également des tiroirs et une armoire permettant de ranger facilement les valises. Le ménage est fait quotidiennement et un coffre-fort est disponible dans la chambre.

L’emplacement est très pratique, à proximité de plusieurs stations de métro et à environ 5 minutes à pied du pont de Brooklyn. On trouve également une caserne de pompiers et un poste de police à proximité, ce qui peut occasionner quelques bruits de sirènes. Cela reste toutefois peu dérangeant lorsqu’on connaît l’ambiance sonore d’un hôtel en plein centre de Manhattan.

The staff was very kind. They gave us all bottled water. Our son and daugher-in-law came to chat for a few hours and they told us they could visit in our room or in the lobby. They personally welcomed them when they arrived. They were just super nice!

Whoever hires and trains the staff should bottle their talent and sell it to every customer facing organization. In 30 years of belonging to Hilton Honors, I’ve seen a lot of Hilton properties, good, bad and meh. Hampton Inn Downtown Brooklyn is the BEST one I have ever stayed in. From Fletcher with his charm and superior customer service orientation greeting us upon arrival to Brian going way above and beyond by helping us out navigating the waffles at breakfast, this is without question the best guest service I have ever had at any hotel. Oh, and Pio Bagels at the breakfast. Who does that? Only a NYC hotel who knows the best bagels! The rooms are clean and well-appointed and the staff I met in the elevators and the hallway were all friendly and asked if they could help in any way. Can’t wait to return. Bravo!
