Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent food.

Cleaners are rogue and will enter and throw away anything not in your case! Make sure to get a do not disturb sign as they are not on all doors. Manager and reception were good and responded to my complaint appropriately.

Carpet in room and the decor a little tired.

On our arrival the hotel receptionist couldn't do enough to try and help us get a taxi but unfortunately wasn't able to, however I would like to thank her for kindness and concern.

Old style room, no access to restaurant due to being fully booked? Other option average.

Overnight stay and booked two rounds of golf. Lovely setting, communal ateas and rooms are a bit tired but clean and pleasant, There was no air con in rooms and it was very warm. Our shower had a silver fish walking around in it and the basin and shower did not drain properly. The toilets in the bar upstairs also smelt awful suggesting a wider drainage issue. The restaurant was fabulous - breakfast and particularly dinner were excellent and staff were really friendly. Both golf courses in fantastic condition and very quiet which was fabulous although my score did not reflect that! Will definitely return for another stay.

We wanted a couple of days away in the area. Although my husband did bring his clubs and played 6 holes, we are not really "golfers". I think we set our expectations too high thinking that to stay on a golf course would be better than it turned out to be. Staff were lovely and really helpful, but our room was frankly exhausted from over use. TV only switched on/off by the mains switch, bathroom door didn't close quietly, no fridge was a huge surprise too, beds were comfortable, but pillows resembled slabs of foam and pillow cases didn't fit. The first room offered to us faced the car park which we didn't want, so another room was found and that faced the swimming pool. Much better, until we realised the air-con was just outside and noisy. There were golfing events on during our short stay. No need to describe the noise level with several tables of 6 x men enjoying a drink and food! You had to shout to hear each other. So we have learnt that this hotel is not for us for future stays. Oh, the Pro Shop and staff are commendable!

Lovely hotel, nice food warm welcome, nice polite friendly staff, good value. Will definitely stay again.

Service was great hotel and room were good spacious and clean.
Pool area was in need of a good clean and some basic maintenance. Changing area was dirty and needed a regular clean floors extremely wet and dirty

Looking very tired and a bit grubby. Soap dispensers gunky and not appealing. Shower very stained, toilet bowl very dirty under rim. Dried foundation on floor. Needs deep clean.

The staff at the hotel were great and I enjoyed the stay. However the rooms and facilities are rather tired and in need of some refurbishment. Made a great weekend away to be close to a race start the next day, but not somewhere for a luxury break.

Overall, a bit dated, but very good value for money.

We chose the hotel as it is near Bewl water where our son was test-driving a new hovercraft for HoverAid. It was very convenient and we had a lovely room facing the golf course. W enjoyed our swim in the pool although sadly the floor in the tiny changing area was very wet and dirty - more matting is needed to allow you to walk over wet areas. Breakfasts were good, especially the full English, with plentof fruit , yoghurt etc in addition. The pancake with maple syrup was a pile of American panckes not a thin English one that was expecting. Food in the Orangery was ok though I ordered a Chicken burger advertised as with gherkins, beef tomato and lettuce which I thought would be served on the side - when it came the gherkin was three slices of one gherkin, so thin you could see through them, and one thin slice of tomato all crammed under the burger. The bacon on top was hard as was the cheese. My husband had fish and chips which was quite small although the chunky chips were lovely. I saw another serving the next night and that fish looked much better and bigger so it's the luck of the draw. Overall we enjoyed our stay and were very comfortable. The hotel is lovely but just needs a little TLC to make it really smart.
