Location and amenities
A little pricey for what it is
Elegant, central, clean, welcoming
If anything, a bit pricey
The Crawford Hotel is a beautiful hotel with lovely appointed rooms. The front desk staff is friendly and accommodating. Rooms are clean and bathrooms provide extra personal items and robes. Be sure to check when making a reservation as some rooms have steps leading into them after entering. A nice perk is the free coffee each day from the coffee shop and the free cup of ice cream from the ice cream shop both down in the original waiting room in Union Station. The waiting room is a busy area with people arriving and leaving by train, or just relaxing with a coffee or drink from the surrounding shops. The Terminal Bar is convenient for a drink and/or lunch and dinner. Snooze restaurant is down the hall for breakfast. A large outside patio area is in front with tables and umbrellas for a nice place to enjoy people watching, relaxing, and having refreshment.
Be sure to check the daily extras provided at the front desk, especially the tour of Union Station which is very interesting and entertaining.
I flew out of Burbank, hopped on a quick flight to Denver, and for once the travel gods were on my side. No drama, no chaos. I got off the plane already feeling like this trip might actually be easy. That feeling only got better once I stepped onto the train into the city and realized my hotel, The Crawford, was literally at the end of the line.
Rolling my bag into Union Station felt more like walking into a movie set than arriving at a hotel. High ceilings, energy everywhere, people moving through, grabbing drinks and coffee while trains came and went. And tucked right into all of that was my hotel. I didn’t need a shuttle. I didn’t have to figure out a rideshare pickup zone. I just walked off the train and, within a couple minutes, I was at the front desk.
Check in was ridiculously simple. A couple of quick questions, a swipe, a smile, and I had my key. No lines, no confusion, no “your room isn’t ready yet” dance. It was the kind of check in that you almost forget happened, because nothing got in the way. After a travel day that started in Burbank and involved planes and trains, that kind of ease mattered.
When I opened the door to my room, I actually stopped for a second. The space was large in a way you don’t expect in a busy downtown hotel. Clean, modern, and comfortable without feeling cold. The bed looked like it meant business, and it delivered. Soft, inviting, and the sort of bed that makes you consider cancelling your morning plans. The details in the room felt intentional too. The amenities were exactly what I needed, not just generic items tossed in to say they were there.
I had booked the stay through my Amex Platinum, so I came in with pretty high expectations. This felt like one of those times where the card benefits actually matched the experience. From the room to the service, it all had that quiet, elevated feel that makes you think, yes, this was the right call.
The staff sealed it. I called down more than a few times to request ride services and ask little questions, and every single time they answered like it was no trouble at all. Cheerful, professional, and genuinely helpful, no hint of annoyance even when I knew I’d called a lot. It felt like having a small, very competent support team on standby just for me.
What made the whole stay memorable was how seamless everything felt from start to finish. I started the day at Burbank airport. I ended it in a big, comfortable room above a historic train station in Denver, with my travel logistics basically handling themselves. Coming and going was effortless. When it was time to leave, I just retraced my steps in reverse. Out the door, onto the train, straight back toward the airport. No scrambling, no stress.
By the time I headed home, I realized this was one of the best hotel stays I’ve had. Not because of one flashy moment, but because every part of the experience worked. The travel from Burbank, the arrival by train, the check in, the room, the staff, the location. It all lined up, and it all made sense. It’s the kind of stay that quietly ruins you for other hotels.
Great! Staff was very professional and helpful.
There was an issue with laundry-handling. Items submitted got temporarilty misplaced, but were then taken care of. The front desk staff handled the issue quickly and well. When the 3 items were laundered and returned, they were accompanied by 2 additional bags of laundry that were not ours. Unsure if the issue was with the staff or the 3rd party that handles laundry.
Learning the history of Union Station and the Crawford Hotel is a must for visiting Denver. Our host and guide Jim is the most passionate, educated, and well spoken historian I've encountered in my global travels. He shares a vast knowledge of the city, surrounding areas, and really knows his stuff... no question is too much for Jim. Amazing location, amazing staff all the way around. A MUST SEE in Denver.
Fantastic room, a good size. Staff were helpful, one girl in particular who went beyond
We arrived by train from Chicago mid morning but couldn’t access room or even freshen up before 3pm Check in
The hotel staff was friendly, the rooms were spacious and clean. The only issue we had was the room was not serviced and when we called down to ask for towels, it took a 2nd call to housekeeping to get them.
The Crawford Hotel exceeded our expectations and was one of the highlights of our trip to Denver.
The location is outstanding, situated directly inside historic Union Station and within walking distance of many of Denver's best restaurants, bars, and attractions. It is difficult to find a more convenient and vibrant location in the city.
The architecture and design are stunning. The restoration of Union Station is impressive, blending historic character with modern luxury. Every detail feels thoughtfully designed and gives the hotel a unique personality that you simply don't find in most chain hotels.
Our room was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully appointed. The beds were excellent, the amenities were first-class, and the entire property felt well maintained and welcoming.
The restaurants, bars, and services throughout Union Station add to the experience and make the hotel feel like much more than just a place to sleep. The staff were professional, friendly, and attentive throughout our stay.
I travel frequently and was genuinely impressed. The Crawford Hotel delivers a luxury experience while maintaining the charm and history that make it such a special destination.
Highly recommended and would absolutely stay here again.
The amenities, services, etc were very good. Mercantile restaurant on site was excellent. Breakfast at Snooze also excellent.. Room, #319 extremely small, with no seating, desk or area to apply make up. It had no closet, 4 hangers on a rack above a small chest of drawers. The king bed was comfortable but it and two night stands took up the width of the entire room. The price value proposition for this room ($550+) was not in line. One of the perks of Amex Fine Hotels and Resorts is a complimentary room upgrade, if available at checkin. The clerk said no upgrades were available, despite being offered several paid upgrade options via an email just prior to the day of arrival. Overall the stay was fine for one night. The amenities made up for the small room.
Thank you for allowing the Rocky Mountain Guides Association to tour Denver Union Station and the beautiful Crawford Hotel, such a unique property. The hotel is in the heart of Denver’s historic district and reflects that history by preserving the Union Station. Each restaurant is local (no national chains) with a variety of cuisines. The Crawford is well located near Denver’s sport stadiums, the nightlife of LoDo, and public transportation. Our guide and the hotel historian, Jim, did an excellent job telling us the history of the building as he showed us your iconic rooms and facilities. Definitely a place to stay.
My son and I are traveling to all the MLB stadiums, and this one is so close to Coors Field. The food options are amazing, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the room was gorgeous. My son said this was his favorite hotel of all time, and I agree!
Perfect hotel in every way...ideal location, friendly/helpful staff, great bars & food!
Definitely recommend and will be going back.
We had a lovely time in Denver on our way to Moab, Utah. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The food and drinks at the Cooper Lounge are exceptional with great service. Snooze and Mercantile are other notable eateries we enjoyed during out stay. I love the convenience of the train right outside our door!
Location and how helpful the staff are.
The Crawford Hotel was very cool, and room was very comfortable and well appointed. The location was centrally located to Bars, Restaurants, and shopping. Easy to get Ubers around the city. We thought the staff was very helpful when needed and treated us like valued guests. We had fun conversations with Bartenders and check in staff everyone was very pleasant. Big Thank you to everyone!!
The Crawford, right in the middle of Union Station had a wonderful energetic vibe. Super cool, and the breakfast at Snooze was delicious! The bed was cozy and it was fun listening to the trains arrive and take off through the night. Great stay, I look forward to returning.
