Property is in a lovely quiet and beautiful area ,rooms are clean ,all the staff are fantastic
Bad bits
Rooms needs updating, tired looking with aircon that rattles all night ,bed was so hard I could sleep ,but they put a topper on which made it slightly better
Air con leaked all over our clothes twice after asking for it to be sorted
Outside balcony lights didn’t work so coming back at night in dark and stairs tricky ,I asked to be sorted but waiting too long so bought bulbs myself
It doesn’t tell u when booking that everyone from outside can use the pool, bar ,so gets busy around the pool when u have paid for the privilege of the pool and others haven’t ,
It also doesn’t tell u when u book the pool room that u have to share it ,can be quite difficult with just 2 loungers and such a small pool ,
Didn’t eat breakfast as it’s the worse I’ve ever had ,cold and quite frankly disgusting and @700baht for 2
We would come back to this hotel unless it gets a good make over ,staff we’re great tho
We had a wonderful stay at Shiva Samui. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. They went above and beyond what we needed. We were also upgrade on our last night to an ocean villa which was amazing.
I would say it needs a little bit of TLC but generally the accommodation was clean, beds were very comfortable and quiet location away from the main tourist areas.
We had a wonderful time and would definitely go back again.
A bit isolated, without much around for outside access. Dinners and breakfasts were overpriced for the value but there wasn’t a choice around. Great for kiteboarding though.
Great staff but the resort lacks luxury for the price it charges. The beach club area is kept up nicely but the rest of the facilities need a serious upgrade. The rooms are ok but not overly comfortable especially for the cost. It seems to me this resort wants to be 5 star but falls way short.
My wife and I love this resort! It's quiet and got different activities/events everyday. The beach is beautiful and clean, and also food there is delicious as well.
However, we totally love it! The only thing I can complain about is the location which is a little far from everything, but which is good at the same time if you just wanna have some quality time.
The Ocean View rooms (2 x double, 1 x single) that we booked were not exactly ocean view rooms. The rooms faced a creek containing muddy water plus ? and debris and on the other side was another resort. If you looked hard to the left you could see the ocean. Not exactly what we expected going by their advertisement. The staff were great, especially with our grand children and nothing was a bother. The jewel in this resort was their main swimming pool and even though we had 3 rooms with two smaller pools we shared one pool and over the 5 days it did lack daily cleaning. Our pool was tarnished with green, slippery walls so we did not use this. We had pre purchased the food package which saved us the worry of paying each night. The restaurant served delicious Thai, vegetarian and western food which we thoroughly enjoyed. Overall our experience was pleasing but the question is would we go back, probably not in view that there are so many excellent resorts in Koh Somui that are closer to facilities.
We had a very comfortable stay and were very happy with our whole experience.l
5 nights for family of 4 adults
Fantastic food and service
Air con leaked but it got repaired fast
Beds great size but a bit firm
Beach debris on shore and surrounds a concern
We stayed there for 4 nights, ending our trip to Thailand with, what we thought, a little bit of luxury. The term 'beachfront' is used quite broadly. I personally do not consider 3 rooms down and 2nd floor a beachfront room. The beach has garbage everywhere. While local staff were polite, we have witnessed a female manager (from England I believe) to be rude to employees because she was overwhelmed (with all of two tables at the restaurant) and only engaged with guests who bought the 'full-board' package. The food was mediocre at best. A really negative aspect for me was that reception closed at 10 p.m. as well as the restaurant. No food unless you leave the resort. Similarly, the shuttle only took you TO the places like Fisherman's village, Lamai and Chaweng beaches, and not back, which cost 800 baht to get back. All in all, the only thing I enjoyed at the resort was the pool bar staff and how incredibly nice they were. Would not come there again.
Went for a 5 day get away break, all we wanted was piece and quiet and we got it. Fantastic place all round great beach, staff everywhere were polite and very helpful. Booked Full Board but upgraded to All Inclusive "well worth it"
All the staffs were very friendly.
I stayed at Ocean Room 2, which is facing the beautiful white sand beach stretching out far beyond the property of the village. The view from the room was beyond my expressions. I would definitely come back and stay again.
Only thing that I would point out about the amenity is the vibration sound coming from the front panel of the airconditioner in the room. Not a big deal, but it would be even nicer if it is fixed.
Spent 10 days at Koh Samui Beach Village which was a very pleasant and relaxing stay. Staff obliging and owners very friendly. Resort (Villas) are located away from the busy main town of Lamai which is less than a 10 minute drive but worth going as beach is very good and shopping for souvenirs (ie standard cheap T shirts etc) is plentiful.
Beach front at resort has an excessive tide so depending on time of day will effect the kayaking and snorkelling but a good safe beach for families. A shuttle is available 3 times a day that will take you to Lamai or Chenwen but you need to get a taxi back. Unless you get your own transport to get around the resort is isolated from the main towns. If you were looking for night life and action then stay closer to town but for families this would be a good choice. Resort will arrange any tours, car or bike hire you need. Food was good but not very exciting. Full board package a good idea if you don't plan to venture out to eat in main town. A few other eating places are within walking distance and offer good reasonable food.
Overall the stay went very well. A few points to bear:
1. The picture used for their profile shows an infinity pool by the beach. There is one beside a makeshift bar at the beach, however, it is not for all guests use as it is within one of the properties (houses) that they rent. Bottom line, there is no infinity pool by the beach.
2. The village focuses on the rental of houses, most of which look really nice from the private streets. We stayed at one of the ocean-view apartments (Ocean 1). Ocean 1 is below Ocean 2. There is technically no view from within the apartment but all you need to do is step outside and the beach is there, along with a small pool (don't get me wrong, it's big enough for 4 - 5 people) meant to be for those staying at Ocean 1 and Ocean 2, though we had the pool all for ourselves all the time.
3. The room smelled like cigarettes, coming from the bathroom, which had no windows to the outside. The smelled probably also came as there was a vent in the bathroom connecting to the upstairs apartment. We requested a resolution but the best action was to provide an oil burner with a citronella aroma enough to quell the cigarettes. Not a proper solution but at least they tried. However, I still consider unacceptable that a room is provided in such conditions, particularly because we explicitly mentioned we were travelling with an infant.
Can't write more due to limits!
everything is perfect
The staff was very friendly, the beach was beautiful and only five mins walk in the back of the hotel. The pool in the villa was a great size for us cuz we have adults and a five year old. The only problem we had were two things. One of the rooms had lots of dead bugs lying around and even on the towels, another was not changing the beach towels for us. We had called housekeeping and then spoken to the cleaning ladies and asked that they give us new towels but they never did. We stayed for four days so that was quite inconvenient. We paid for the full board package and since one of my family members couldn't make it at the last minute, they gave us hotel credit for one person.
We are a family of 5 - (3 kids ages 10, 12, and 15) and had a very relaxing 4 day stay here after a hectic couple of weeks in Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai. The villas are beautiful (each has its own pool) and the staff is very courteous and knowledgeable. The beach is beautiful and expansive as well. We will definitely make it back here!
Very pleasantly surprised at this resort in Koh Samui that offers an all-inclusive option! Most of the food was very good for price we paid. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful to accommodate our needs. Compared to the public beaches that were jam packed with tourists, Samui Beach Village offered a very relaxing and quiet beachfront. Would definitely recommend this for those looking for a quiet/relaxing beach vacation in Koh Samui!
We will definitely return with friends. Highly recommend this place to people of all ages. Samui Beach Village was of higher standard than anwhere else we stayed in our three weeks of travel through Thailand. The pool was large and warm with a bar. Gym, ping pong, tennis court at no extra cost. We stayed in the ocean view room on the second story. I noticed the sand was cleared of seaweed everyday. There were so many staff there to make sure we were entertained and happy. The owners of Samui Beach Village are very lucky to have long term staff that genuinely care for their guests. The beach is quiet with beautiful sunrises. an immediate relief when you arrive as it is very well managed and clean.
Very helpful and friendly staff that all appear to enjoy there jobs!
