Staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are a bit on the smaller side but still very nice and comfortable. 100% recommend it is located very close to the subway stations!

Hotel has a nice entrance and reception is reached via a lift to the 2nd floor. Check in staff are friendly and helpful.
We booked a triple room, grandma, mother and teenager. Unfortunately triple rooms are small end/corner rooms with very little space. Nowhere to put cases which need to be locked in a metal crate outside the room which is not ideal. On the plus side the beds are comfortable, towels are changed daily and bins emptied. As a family of three we found the space in the room a little tight but couples or single travelers would be ok. The convenience of this hotel and the general comfort out way the space issue if you can cope with it.
The little coffee shop across the road is a great place for breakfast and the Irish pub good for a night cap.

Very convenient location with very good restaurants in easy walking distance. Taxis pass by all the time. Rooms are typically small. Friendly and helpful staff with good English.

I love this cozy hotel. Walkable distance to subway and restaurants. Only 10 mins walk to Ginza. Most important they provide free tea and coffee throughout the day.

I liked that it was close to shopping and public transport. Family Mart on the doorstep. Our room had no window as I’d was close to the building next door. Didn’t bother us too much because we were only inside to go to sleep.

The property was good, staff were friendly, and they even offered a voucher for a soft drink/wine during our stay. My only complaint is that the room was very tight. We had a corner room with three twin beds so there was no room for our suitcases. We had to move a chair out o the room to put a suitcase under the desk. Otherwise room was clean and our stay was pleasant.

Lovely comfortable stay in Kyoto, the staff was amazing, room was comfortable. Quiet area with a restaurants and convenience stores around. It’s a few blocks away from subway and bus lines but also somewhat walkable 20 mins to heart of Kyoto. But after being tired from walking all day, it was tiring walking back from bus stop.

Overall, the property was good. It was in a good location with food and station options. The service and employees were good and they went out of their way to help. The only thing that I was a little disappointed was the hotel charged us 300 yen for additional towels.

We stayed four nights and enjoyed our stay. Location was excellent, room was spacious, based on Japanese standards. Service was good.

We liked that the room was as bigger than other hotels we had and also that the bath was bigger too.

The folks at Kyoto Itoya did a great job of making me feel welcome. They explained everything I needed to know about my room. The loaner umbrellas they provide are great for walking around the city. The small cafe on the second floor is really nice. Very central location, easy to walk from there to public transport. And they support luggage delivery, and helped me get my luggage sent on to my next hotel, which was a tremendous boon.

Hotel is well located in terms of metro station and more important bus station in front of door, as we did a lot by bus in Kyoto.
We booked excluding breakfast and organized breakfast via supermarkets around the corner. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom small but all what you need. The room itself was relatively big with even a desk and 2 chairs. Staff was super friendly and they offered us a free welcome drink. The police station is around d the corner, so if you have a very very light sleep, maybe not ideal.

Very polite staff, room is rather small for 3 persons. Wifi at room (7th floor) was not working (no Internet). Good location close to city centre by walk.

I made the decision because of the price, but when I arrived at the accommodation, I was happy to receive a welcome coupon. And the height was the old key, so it represented the atmosphere of Kyoto well. And I liked the size of the market because I was staying alone.

The breakfast was of great quality. I like that the location is relatively walkable/just a short cab ride away to different sites. The surrounding area is quiet and makes you feel like you are a part of the everyday scenery. It would be better if the hotel can provide lotion in addition to the shampoo/conditioner/body wash. The hotel doesn’t provide daily cleaning (only towel change and taking out trash) unless you stay for more than four nights. Slightly more frequent cleaning would be a huge plus. We stayed for three nights and as much we tried to keep the room clean, the floor still gets a bit messy. Overall a very pleasant stay and the staff is friendly and helpful.

The staff were all very nice and super helpful. Room service was very nice as well and respectful of our space and personal items. It was unfortunate that there was no coin laundry or laundry machines inside the hotel, but the laundry rooms were a very walkable distance. Other than that, we had a very nice stay!
