Breakfast is very good.

Hotel is aged and some areas are run-down. My bathtub and basin had silicon like stains, drains likely choked and was a bit slow draining out.
Spa is closed. Pool is not open for evening/night swims.
Cable TV is really the local network. Forget about HBO, movies and international sports and news channels.
Bed mattresses are not longer offering good support, and sagged in the middle. Luckily i booked twin beds instead of a king/queen bed and one of the single mattress was at least firmer.

I had a generally comfortable stay at this hotel. The staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming, which made the experience feel warm and personal. The room itself was clean and cozy—great for a short getaway.

However, one issue stood out: the bath towels were unfortunately quite dirty. If you're planning to stay here, I’d recommend bringing your own towels just to be safe.

Overall, a good value for the price, but a little extra prep will make your stay even better!

Nice food serounding the hotel . Easy to access to other shopping mall

We returned hotel at about 11 pm, there was not a single security personnel at the hotel lobby. At the counter, we saw a single person playing with mobile phone, without noticing us going into the hotel lift. The lift could be accessed by anybody to any levels.

we stayed there after returning from attending Aespa's concert in Singapore. it is located near JB Sentral so it was very convenient for us to head to the hotel. the room was okay, beds were clean and comfy, bathroom was also clean. the breakfast buffet was amazing!

Dont like:
1. it doesn't not come with free breakfast with the price paid.

2. Room facing the main road, very noisy with motorcycle passby almost the whole night, unable to have good rest.

When I checked in this hotel, the receptionist assigned me 14th floor room. The room was terrible, there was strong smell in the room, aircon leaving, room was dark the light was very old. It is totally different from what i saw on the internet. I went down to complain about the leaking, and they changed my room to 7th floor. It is renovated room. A huge difference for the room, the bed is new, room is bright and the bathroom is new. I wonder why the reception did not put me to 7th floor, there were empty rooms. I paid Rm270 per night. Luckily i went to ask to change room, otherwise I would have stayed in an very old room. I won't go back to this room

Toilet was extremely dirty. Seat was black and when I wiped it, it was blackish green. See photo of the toilet paper. Obviously not cleaned.

Hand towel had lipstick stains on it.

Ceiling was full of mould.

Don't stay in room 1420.

The room is worse than your public toilet.

The court hangers were had fungai. The staff woke me up early in the asking to change room.

The room had no windows. The toilet pipe was weird as hell, there were no trigger on the pipe.

We stayed at Crystal Crown Hotel Johor Bahru from 29/3 to 1/4 during the Raya holiday for a short Singapore trip. Chose this hotel because of its location near CIQ and reviews mentioning spacious rooms. Unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. The hotel and room were old and outdated. Shower water pressure was inconsistent — it stopped and started while using, which was very annoying. TV was small, fridge wasn’t turned on, and basic amenities were lacking.

The worst part — my son's soft toy (a SGD18 dragon from Universal Studios) went missing from our room on 31/3 while we were out. He was very attached to it and slept with it every night. The only people who entered the room were housekeeping. We reported the incident to the front desk, but they couldn’t give any answer. At check-out, they asked us to write an incident report and wait for their investigation.

After two days, Azhar from the hotel replied saying they are not responsible for lost items and asked us to make a police report. Seriously? They expect guests to travel back to JB just to report a missing soft toy? This response was frustrating and disappointing. No accountability, no empathy.

We will never stay here again. The staff can’t be trusted and the hotel clearly does not care about guest experiences. Not safe, not worth it. Avoid this place.

The floor in the bathroom very dirty.. Also the pillow, and the wifi not working..very bad and after breakfast all of us have diare maybe the food not hygiene, this is very old hotel, especially the internet very very bad not working at all, never come back here again.. NO MORE!!

The renovated rooms look great. Though the TV has no signal. (Didnt bother to ask for help, since I'm not using anyway).

No in-room safe, used the safe deposit at front desk. Similar to past reviewers, they seems to have poor housekeeping of the safe keys. Took them some time to find the keys that I've returned the night before.

We are returning Customers after a gap of 18 years. The Hotel has the same grand view from outside. Front desk staff were friendly and check in was smooth. All house keeping staff were great. Lot of renovations are going on in some floors. Our Room on 10th floor has already been renovated ( we requested for a renovated room). No mould or bad smells as reported by other customers. King size bed is super comfy, with clean linen and towels. Room is extra large being the corner room 1025. Lifts are clean Complimentary breakfast is not great, with just limited varieties and with only Malaysian dishes. Very hot spicy Sambal We could not enjoy. Fish ball curry and Coffee were horrible.
There is a Spa with various massage treatments is available on 4th Floor and are reasonably priced. They have sauna and steam bath also for extra price.
The swimming pool is large enough but not very clean and that was disappointing for us.
