Stunning room, but with practical issues
Pros:

We stayed here for 3 nights. Room was spacious and clean. Bathroom was separated to the other side of the room which would not have been a big bother, but the floor was creaky so waking up in the middle of the night was a bit of a disturbance. The pillows were very thin and bed was hard. There were extra pillows in the closet which we did not see until our last night. I would recommend for hotel to just put them on the bed to allow immediate comfort. Coffee was provided in the room. No tea though. No free water compared to other 4 stars we stayed at prior to this hotel. The hotel did provide a welcome champagne and cookies which was a nice addition. Hotel staff were very nice and accommodating. The location is close to Christmas markets. Overall, room aesthetics were nice, but for a 4 star rated hotel we wished there was more focus on sleep comfort (for example, better beddings).

Not worth the price
Pros:

One of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had.
Our room had black mold on the bathroom walls cause there is no fan or window or ventilation. When we informed the staff they tried to tell us it wasn’t mold, but it very obviously was. They offered to change our room but all of the rooms were made in the same fashion and had mold in the shower doors and bathroom walls.
We were staying at the end of the hallway so the WiFi didn’t reach so we had no service during our stay.
The thermometer in the room cannot be changed, it’s only controlled by staff.
The view from our window was facing directly to the building on the side of the hotel (not the street but the walkway on the side) so if you opened the curtains everyone inside the building could see everything.
The walls are also very thin and the moment the cleaning crew started cleaning at 6am you can hear everything.
Lastly, the breakfast was an assortment of ham and cheese not placed on properly refrigerated platters from 6:30-10:30am and the bread assortment was dried up bread.
Overall for the price you’re paying this place is 100% not worth it.

Enjoyable stay in Strasbourg
Pros:

This was a very comfortable and convenient hotel for us and we were happy we chose it. It was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Great location for walking around the area.
גם יש מקרר קטן בחדר וזה קרוב מאוד למסעדות כשרות ובתי כנסת. אז היה מאוד נוח לביקור שלנו בסטרסבורג.

Excellent hotel
Pros:

Lovely hotel, perfectly positioned for exploring Strasbourg, if a little tricky to find in the first instance. It might be worth the hotel giving specific instructions such as the name of the restaurant on the corner of the road the hotel is located in?

The hotel was stylish and clean with comfy beds. We were a little disappointed that there was no kettle or tea in the room (there was a coffee machine) and we Brits love a cup of tea! However when reception called to ask if everything was ok, I mentioned the kettle and Tomas arrived directly with one and done tea. Tomas and the rest of the staff we encountered were very kind and helpful.

Pros:

Superb hotel really convenient for all Strasbourg has to offer.
Really helpful staff especially Thomas behind reception.
Room really nice and breakfast had lots of choice.
The only negative is not having tea and coffee making facilities in the room which I would expect from this type of establishment, but this would not stop me staying again

Cozy Hotel and Atmosphere
Pros:

Very nice and ready to support employees! From the Reception till the cleaning ladies. Congratulations, it is not easy to find ways to keep the team motivated. Everything is small but very clean and modern. The spacious parking place right next to the hotel is a very big plus.

There are better places to stay in Strasbourg
Pros:

They gave us a room on the top floor, saying it was the best in its category. However, you have to climb stairs because the elevator doesn’t reach that level, and the space is reduced due to the sloping roof. I wouldn’t recommend choosing these rooms. We also booked parking, but the spaces are extremely narrow. As for breakfast, it could be much better. it’s definitely not up to the standard of a 4-star hotel.

Hotel D Experience
Pros:

We enjoyed Hotel D during our stay in Strasbourg. Great service, nice personnel, and clean rooms. Breakfast was excellent, with nice selection of local food, neat space and very friendly host Marcela. She was so attentive and friendly with us and my kids that when we left, kids kept asking to see her. I’ve never seen such kindness, attention and care at any other hotel. She went above and beyond to make our stay memorable!

Pros:

My bad for not purchasing the parking before I got there. The address from the web site to the property did not work because of the one way streets but we got there. The staff was great. Breakfast was good and it was such a great location to walk to all the things we wanted to see.

Good base
Pros:

Functional, spotlessly clean and well-run small hotel in a convenient position on the edge of the historic Grand Ile. It’s adjacent to the Palais de Justice and very handy for trains, trams and all the local sights which are easily walkable.

We were in the suite on the second floor, directly overlooking the Palais offices. Our full-length windows were only double-glazed but we heard no street noise during our entire week-long stay; a major plus point. Strasbourg doesn’t seem to be much of a party town and pedestrian movement outside the hotel is minimal.

The suite itself is a wide rectangular room with a comfortable bed centrally placed and the functional stuff i.e. desk, minibar, hot-drink facilities are at one end and the lounge stuff i.e large sofa and tables at the other. Likewise, the w.c. and the bath/shower facilities are similarly, and often conveniently, separated at each end of the room. What we did like, too, was the walk-in closet in the hall area just by the door, thus saving space in the main room. The whole place was serviced immaculately during our entire stay, and the girls doing so were always cheerful.

The bathroom was notable for the large square semi-sunken bath which Mrs EPR very much endorsed. The shower seemed equally desirable but never reached a temperature above barely lukewarm, which really was a major irritant. Regular reports made no difference and we declined the offer to swap to a smaller room; other than this blip, the suite was ideal. Ultimately, a compromise was reflected within our bill and this fair and reasonable gesture was appreciated.

Breakfast is taken in a small area adjacent to Reception. Guests are requested to indicate a preferred arrival time to even out the numbers using the buffet. Not too much of a problem during the week, but the pressure is definitely on at the weekend when every table was in use with the residue spilling over into the lounge area. No complaints about the buffet itself; a small central plinth was laden with all the usual favourites, all fresh and all replaced quickly when supplies became low. Coffee is via an intriguing machine which didn’t reflect the brit taste for latte so I used the always-fresh filter coffee with milk from the cereal area. Breakfast is overseen by a very nice conscientious lady, whilst other staff diligently pitch in when the pressure is on.

For this visit, we engaged with reception staff more than usual and they were all friendly, helpful and personable throughout.

There are loads of decent restaurants just a stroll away, as are the main old-town sites, and the nearest tram stop is equally close. The train station is a 20-minute trek but accesses many interesting locations. For example, the region’s secondary jewel, Colmar, is only 30 minutes away by rail.

I must admit that we developed rather a soft spot for the D, and it’s a good base to a explore a city which deserves a far greater tourist profile.
