A hideaway for 5* slow-travel, tranquility and comfort at Le Dune Piscinas
Pros:

With all the travel options at the touch of a keyboard, this has got to be one of the most exceptional 5* finds in Sardegna. Sitting in the southwest of this wild island, the views are of an endless coastline of natural dunes and blues waters. Go there to be completely unplugged from life; to take in nature's generosity and the beauty of the stars at night. There are yoga retreats coming up here soon too. Am up for anything they suggest!

Hit and Miss - 5* prices; 1* corporate customer service culture
Pros:

This is a hard review to write - there is a lot of 'wow' but also a lot of room to improve.

LOCATION: The marketing blurb, and travel writers, refer to the location as totally remote/isolated. Its true that its a beautifully converted mine building at the end of a long dirt track, but it's located on a public beach. There is a large campervan site next door and two beach bars. So at breakfast you get a wonderful view plus people wandering past the roped in hotel perimeter watching you. Not a deal breaker - and the beach bars are very nice - however you're not 'isolated'.

GOOD BITS: Staff, location, views, sunsets and the courtyard bar. Wine selection good/deep and sommelier excellent. Courtyard bar staff excellent. Breakfast mind-blowingly good - lots of local treats - insist on eating it outside

NOT SO GOOD BITS: Food. We were hoping for (and asked for) romantic sunset food served outside; we got over-priced bland food that was beautifully presented, served in a sterile library like atmosphere by lovely but under trained staff (2nd night was spent at a beach bar - which delivered everything we wanted atmosphere/romance/sunset-wise at a fraction of the price of Le Dune)

POOR BITS: Customer service culture. We had a issue with out room (air conditioning stuck on full so room was 'freezing') that was not resolved (they promised to fix it but simply turned off the airco - so the room got too hot). There were plenty of alternative rooms to swap us to of the same grade; this option was only offered late on day 2. I spent several hours trying to resolve the issue - it make a 'stress free stay' stressful. No attempt for feedback - at check-out or afterwards. When we offered feedback it was ignored. This shows that 5* customer service is not ingrained in corporate culture. Le Dune - please improve and please - seek the feedback of your customers so you can deliver more consistently and achieve your potential...

Unfortunately, we expected complete discretion, which we did not receive.
Pros:

The hotel is situated in a wonderful location and also meets high standards.I was looking for a place where there are few tourists and you can disconnect from everyday life. The standard of the rooms and the quality of the cuisine are top.

Cons:

The staff seemed tired of the season. They didn't serve what we ordered on the menu. There was no privacy in the room – the glass door had a curtain that let you see everything through. Unfortunately, we were unlucky when a group of young, drunk German guests put on a show through our door. I had to call the front desk to intervene – unacceptable in a hotel of this caliber. Moreover, 12 hours after leaving the hotel, I receive information about additional costs. The room was previously checked by two people to check what had been used from the minibar. The staff must have had a very busy season and are working at their wit's end.

Superbe séjour
Pros:

Nous avons été à cet établissement avant la restauration. Cette dernière est faite avec beaucoup de goût et nous avons une très belle semaine. La chambre est très confortable, le petit déjeuner hors norme, la plage avoisinante superbe et les ballades sur cette longue plage de sable est tellement incroyable. Magnifique séjour. Nous sommes coupés du monde.

Cons:

Dès qu'il y a un peu de vent, ils ferment les parasols à la plage alors qu'ils sont spécial vent car ventés et bien enfoncés dans le sol. Pas très logique. Superbe séjour
