Cons:

The bed in our original room was slightly larger than a single, smaller than a double. My wife and are both 6 feet tall. There were no queens available, and so we stayed in the guest house next to the hotel. The room was large, spacious and clean, and the bed was a queen and comfortable. But inconvenient for a traveler. No bedside table on one side, for example, and the bathroom had no -zero- counter space. It should have been 100 bucks less.

Needs were comfortable, the staff was very friendly and accommodating, great location to walk to most things, very clean with vigilant staff. I loved that this hotel stayed as original as possible.

Cons:

No fridge unless you asked, but they made you aware before booking. The restaurant on site is very expensive. It would have been nice to have cheaper options on site as well, even if it was simple food like sandwiches or something.

Hawthorne hotel is absolutely stunning. Everyone was friendly, and I would stay there again.
Pros:

This place was absolutely gorgeous. There was a wedding party, and it was pretty loud, but that's OK... it's a wedding party! The music was shut down before 11pm, so it didn't disturb us. The bed was really comfortable.

Cons:

I can't say there was anything that I didn't like. I would definitely stay there again, and I highly recommend Hawthorne Hotel. Everything was clean and perfect.

Wonderful historic stay
Pros:

Our room was stunning, huge with a sofa, writing desk & 2 very comfortable beds with 5 pillows. Sheer luxury.
Very clean, beautiful decor. Coffee, water & lemonade available in reception.
Location was perfectly for exploring. No road noise. Tried to stay longer as so impressed but the hotel was fully booked. The photos don’t do it justice.

Our three night stay at the Hawthorne Hotel in Salem, MA was wonderful!! Our King Room was extremely large and their beds, pillows, ect were soooo comfy!! Everybody at the wedding was talking about how comfy they were! The Staff went out of their way to be accommodating and all were very kind and friendly!! My husband and I will definitely stay here again (Even though we only live one town over 😉)!! We both highly recommend staying at the beautiful Hawthorne Hotel!!!! 🥰♥️ JHDLW
