Comfortable room, nice bar and reasonable breakfast.
No issues
Lovely room in building across car park, so away from noise of the pub. Room looked newly decorated, very clean, good lighting and an exceptionally comfy bed. Fabulous breakfast and evening meal. Staff all lovely. Very quiet, looks a bit underused, which is a shame, but looks as though the whole place is undergoing a refurbishment. Good luck to them, this place is lovely with great staff and deserves to be supported.
Tap on bathroom sink very wobbly and door handle falling off. Room had a balcony which overlooked a lovely green area with a stream - would be lovely if a bit of attention given to outside sitting area - it was a bit rickety and chairs were quite dirty.
Having said that, it looks as though there is a programme of works being undertaken - workmen were working on rooms below, so it may just be a case of it all coming together in time. If so, rooms will be fabulous.
All food great and staff amaxing
Too short a stay
Had just a one night stay here and its refreshing to see that there is still value to be had . The rooms were clean..sleep quality good and a rain shower in the bath worked fine. The breakfast was 12.50 and offered fine continental choice with a good hot selection to boot. The downstairs bar was terrific offering happy hour which i took advantage of..5 pounds for a pint was a bargain coming from London which just went through a tenner in certain pubs.
All in all ..a great stay and would return if in the area. Comes highly recommended.
Very friendly and helpful staff , I had their Sunday roast which was exceptional .I would certainly recommend the Bear Hotel
Breakfast was lovely, plenty of choice, n location brilliant
Everyrhing was fine
Very quirky. Old building with lots of beams and uneven floors. Added to the charm. Lovely warm welcome on arrival.
Nice clean bedroom, although tea tray a little basic.
Excellent evening meal, steak cooked to perfection. Very good breakfast.
Car parking an added bonus.
Noticed that bin in main toilet was full on first evening and still not emptied on leaving the property, although I had been in at the same time as the cleaner on one occasion. However, apart from that small issue, very clean throughout.
They could store our bikes ok. Very courteous staff
Nothing
L'emplacement
Le restaurant
Insonorisation catastrophique
WC défectueux
Écoulement du bain défectueux
Prise electrique défectueuse
Everything was great - the beds were exceptionally comfortable and the staff couldn’t do enough!
A few of the areas could do with a deeper clean
Good friendly personel
Catch on window broken
Friendly staff on reception always tries to get us into our room as early as possible
The communication between the booking and the bar as we were booked in on dinner bed and breakfast but when I got the bill for the food I was asked to pay for the food. I queried the bill and was told that reception didn’t tell the bar they said we had chosen off the wrong menu. How were we supposed to know??? It was resolved in the end but as we didn’t have a starter that was included thought they may not have charged for the sauce for the steak.next time we will have a starter even if we don’t eat it
Room facilities were clean and comfortable, apart from the lack of a safety mat for the shower, which we had to ask for.
I believe this is as important for the elderly as a hair drier.
I have said this before. The Greene King printed breakfast menu is virtually unreadable, with the most important facts being printed in back ink on a black background. Who okayed this?
