Very pleasant option for the temple
Pros:

We really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is lovely, a heritage place which we like. Filled with interesting art pieces and comfort.
An excellent location for Borobodur Temple and a nice pool to relax by. Very comfortable bed and spacious room. Would recommend especially given the modest price.

Cons:

Some ambient music in the foyer & restaurant area would lift the mood.

Buen hotel para visitar Borobudur
Pros:

Hotel antiguo precioso con habitaciones muy bonitas. La ubicación genial y estaba todo muy limpio. La piscina ayuda a descansar del calor en verano.

Cons:

Se echa de menos servicios, un pequeño bar en la piscina, un pequeño restaurante para comer o cenar. El desayuno con poca variedad.

Prachtig hotel, maar weinig sfeer
Pros:

Locatie is super als je de Borobudur en de bergen in wil. In de buurt zijn drie restaurants waar je redelijk kunt eten en om een biertje te pakken. Het hotel heeft een prachtige koloniale uitstraling met boeddhistische elementen. Heel sfeervol. Het zwembad is groot en het water heeft een goede temperatuur.

Cons:

Het ontbijt is erg matig. Nasi en vlees is koud. Koffie is slap. Je zit in de hal van het hotel wat erg ongezellig is door de omvang van de ruimte met hoge plafonds. Dit is de reden dat we daar niet gedineerd hebben. De kaart beloofde ook niet veel goeds. Als er geen gasten zijn, dan heeft het hotel een doodse sfeer. De oude houten ledikanten kraken alle kanten op. Niet fijn als je met z’n tweeën er in ligt. Matras is keihard. Onze airco had kuren. Wat ik mis is aandacht voor de klanten. Geen bar in het hotel waar je een drankje kunt bestellen terwijl er genoeg buitenlandse gasten komen in het hoogseizoen. Nergens kun je direct zitten om een spelletje te spelen omdat de tafels de hele dag gedekt staan om te kunnen eten. Rondom het zwembad veel te weinig ligbedden. Kortom, dit hotel heeft zoveel mogelijkheden waar geen gebruik van wordt gemaakt, waardoor het cijfer net voldoende is. Jammer.

Pros:

Het enige personeelslid dat we gezien hebben was vriendelijk.

Voor een bezoek aan de Borobudur ligt dit op loopafstand.

Cons:

Na 15 jaar hier weer geweest dat merk erg verouderde staat veel slijtage ook op meubels op de kamer.
Ontbijt alleen op bestelling.
Hotel is zeker aan een update toe.

A special thanks to Bambang, who was very kind. We had some lovely conversations together because I speak a little bit of the Javanese language. That made our stay even more special. Definitely worth coming back to!

Pros:

The staff were courteous & helpful despite language barrier. The beds were comfortable. When we raised the issue of the aircon not seeming to work satisfactorly we were offer another room.

Cons:

The room lacked space for more than one suitcase & could have done with an additional bedside locker.
