Clean and comfortable. Beautiful view. Good stay for the money
Pros:

Location. Within walking distance of everything. The view of the river was a selling point. And the bed was very comfortable.

Cons:

No sink in the bathroom. Had to use the sink in the room to wash your hands.

Good location, adjacent to river, walkable to things
Pros:

We opted for a higher floor and I'm glad we did as families and loud guys sat in the downstairs chairs enjoying their visit. The "view" of the river was modest and it was hard to catch a sunset to the side at this time of year, nobody's fault of course. Staff was pleasant and the stairs were not tough to carry our bags up. In room coffee acceptable and we appreciated the refrigerator for beverages. Compact sized room but comfortable bed. Overall, a bit overpriced but possibly in line with the tourist aspect. I'd recommend it for the location aspect.

Posizionato alla fine della via principale con vista sul fiume. Vicino a Rocking Horse Bakery per una colazione fantastica e espresso come in Italia. Personale alla reception gentilissimo. C’era anche hot tub!

Wonderful comfort and location
Pros:

Excellent location, walking distance to the entire town. Rooms are very comfortable and well furnished. The balcony is private and overlooking the river, which is lovely. Wildlife is easy viewing from your room. Highly recommend this hotel.

Great Stay for a fun Western town experience!
Pros:

Winthrop is a small town created to take you back in time, a western themed town. The Rio Vista fits right in with the theme and is located at the end of the “main” street. This is not a fancy place, but it was clean and comfortable. 5 stars for location, air conditioning, view (balcony on river), bed (very comfortable). Bring your own shampoo, soaps and hair dryer if you’re picky ( they only have shampoo no conditioner and the hair dryer is an older wall model). Refrigerator and microwave in room… they also have riverside seats and a hot tub that we did not use. Overall a clean, comfortable and peaceful stay

We arrived at the hotel at around 7:00 PM with a confirmed Booking.com reservation, but the hotel claimed they had not received it and said they were fully booked.

We waited for about an hour and a half, and only at around 8:30 PM were told they could not provide us with a room. We then had to find alternative accommodation late in the evening, in a small town with very limited options.

What makes this even more disappointing is that I had already communicated with the hotel through Booking.com several months before arrival regarding our check-in time, so they clearly had information about our reservation.

Very disappointing experience. I cannot recommend this hotel.

Worth it for the riverside location alone!
Pros:

It doesn’t pretend to be anything fancy, but the room was really big, comfortably furnished and right on the riverbank, which was delightful.

Cons:

Corridor to the river bank needs some TLC.

The river location makes for one of the best night’s sleep ever. The sound of the water and the view to the little island is so relaxing.. it’s also great to be able to walk to restaurants and shops.

Another great stay in downtown Winthrop
Pros:

Walking distance to just about everything in downtown Winthrop, including Rocking Horse Bakery! Every room has a view of the river. Staff is always friendly and helpful. We’ve stayed here many times over the past 8-9 years — in all seasons. For XC skiing, easy walking distance to Methow Valley trail network.
