When I arrived in here I feel warm welcome from the hotel by Hotel staff they taking care of me like I am their family especially staff that name Irris she gave me a good advice about the facilities of hotel I feel very good and so warm. Thanks.
The service was impeccable. Check in was smooth and staff was friendly. Iris Xian was extremely helpful. Highly recommend the hotel.
The Westin Chongqing Liberation Square is truly an outstanding hotel. The location (with close proximity to the Jiefangbei pedestrian shopping/food street and around a 15-minute walk to popular Hongya Cave), modern room designs (with city and Yangtze River views), room sizes (with complimentary water bottles), bathrooms and amenities, housekeeping staff, breakfast at Seasonal Tastes, breakfast and afternoon snacks at Westin Club, and dinner at Chuan Shang were all exceptional. We enjoyed all of them very much and they all exemplified what a first-class luxury hotel should be.
In addition, there were two occasions that stood out. First, during check-in, Sylvia at the Front Desk recognized my Marriott Bonvoy Gold status and upgraded one of our rooms to a Studio Suite King River View, with beautiful views of the Yangtze River and Cableway, Raffles City, and other buildings that lighted up in the evening. The spacious room also provided unique features such as the double rain showers in the bathroom, and an exercise bike and yoga ball.
The second instance took place on the evening before our departure. Our son's cell phone had accidentally fallen off his pants pocket in a taxi before we arrived at the hotel, and he only realized it a few minutes after the taxi had left. My wife immediately seeked the help of James Ye, who was one of the staff stationed at the concierge at the time. James immediately helped by: (1) hailing another taxi and together with my wife, tried to chase down the taxi that had the phone (using location tracking, although delayed); (2) bringing my wife to the police station to look at CCTV footage, helping the police identify the taxi through its license plate, having the police contact the taxi driver, and having the driver return the phone to the hotel that same night; (3) fronting payment for all expenses incurred, including taxi fares (plus that of the taxi returning the phone), (4) calming down my wife and reminding her not to worry; and (5) showing initiative, quick-thinking, and street smarts in solving the various issues that arose during the recovery process.
There is no way we could have recovered the phone in any other city, nor have it returned within hours, with practically no information about the taxi. James Ye truly went above and beyond what a concierge normally does, and for this, should be applauded and commended for his incisive and decisive problem-solving actions. There is no doubt he is an asset to Westin, and with further training and development, can quickly rise to become an effective and efficient management leader not only of the hotel, but in any other service industry organization.
We heartily and without reservation, endorse The Westin Chongqing Liberation Square to any Chongqing-visiting tourist, and more importantly, thank the excellent staff, especially Sylvia and James Ye, for contributing to the operation of such a well-run hotel, and for handling effectively the day-to-day situations - both foreseeable and unforeseeable - faced by them. Bravo!
Rooms are very spacious. Bed very comfotable with separate bath, shower and toto bidet toilet. Housekeeping very fast and prompt. And a very friendly front desk staff upon check out that speaks english quite well.
The location is within a few minutes walk from the Liberation Square. The hotel condition is relatively fresh. The room, lobby, public area, restaurant are well cleaned. I have got a studio room which faced the city (nearly panoramic view of city lighting skyline at night). There are also studio rooms facing river view.
Noise level is very quiet in the room.
Bathroom's water pressure is so well, water temperature either. A Dyson hairdryer is a plus.
Bedding and details in the room are decent and clean.
Breakfast include a wide variety of choices - more towards healthy option as per Westin standard.
I stayed at The Westin Chongqing Liberation Square from November 22 to 25, 2025, and was very disappointed with several aspects of my stay.
I have mobility difficulties and knee pain, and when I went to use the swimming pool, I discovered that access required going down stairs, with no elevator or accessible route available. This situation caused pain and frustration, and raises serious concerns about the hotel’s accessibility standards.
Communication was also tricky, as few staff members spoke English, which is unexpected in an international hotel.
Additionally, after my initial deposit was used to order two sandwiches (for my son and me), the staff began calling my room repeatedly to collect payment, which was embarrassing and unnecessary since I intended to settle the bill at checkout.
Considering that The Westin is one of the most expensive hotels in Chongqing, this experience was stressful and disappointing. I expected comfort and professionalism, but instead faced accessibility barriers, poor communication, and inadequate service.
Everything is so great! Breakfast is phenomenal
The room is very clean and comfortable. Location is very good as well. Stayed for 4 nights and had a very pleasant stay
The staffs are very helpful and efficient. The hotel provides unexpected services, ie collect my online shopping deliveries before my arrival.
Wonderful!
The location was excellent and the river view was amazing! Excellent service and clean. Highly recommend for people who want to stay in a centric area of Chongqing
Really enjoyed this hotel based on location, cleanliness, room quality, and service. Room was available for check-in early. Check-in agent honored my Bonvoy Gold Elite Status and provided a complimentary upgrade to a higher floor and larger room. The bathroom was very luxurious. I ordered room service for dinner two times and the food was delicious. Breakfast buffet had a wide selection and quality was good.
I originally booked the Hyatt Regency Liberation Square; however, I am really happy that I opted to go with Westin instead after my positive experience.
Overall, I would most certainly stay here again.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for the wonderful hospitality and excellent service we received during our stay. Every member of the team was kind, professional, and attentive, making our time here truly special, specially to the team at the Westin Club (Shailene Sue and rest of the team are the best!). Drinks and food were great. We felt special.
Thank you for making us feel so welcome and for all the small details that made our visit unforgettable. We will cherish the memories and hope to return in the future
The views were spectacular, staff very friendly, easy to walk around shopping
Love this hotel. Glad I changed my booking to this hotel in the last minute. Check-in is on the 51st floor. The lounge is located at 52nd floor. Breakfast is at 50th floor and it has superb spread. The view from the lounge on 52nd floor is awesome, with a bird eye's view of Chongqing, its skyscrapers, rivers and bridges. Staff here are very friendly. Very pleased to have stayed here, and they were kind too to have my upgraded my room. Will definitely return to this place in my future visits to Chongqing.
One night stay for family trip. Very nice view and location. Especially, it is next to the TK site "Hong Ya" cave area. Service and breakfast are superb too. CQ is a city on hills, better to get a taxi for reaching this hotel if you have luggage.
Hotel is great - standard five star city hotel. They have a private pool on level 52 which you can book to have high tea (floating moment). The cost was about $200 AUD and I definitely recommend. The pool has a Perspex base and is cantilevered from the side of the building. We had seen images on social media for this but it’s not mentioned on the hotels page so we took a gamble and booked this hotel hoping it had this. They only have a few spaces available each day and you have a 1.5hr time slot so best to book a head.
The hotel service could have been a little better however some things may have been lost in translation. For example we showed images of the room we had booked using a western booking site when checking in to make sure it was correct. When we got to the room it was a downgraded room on lower level. They were happy to change our room for us however it seemed a lot of stuff around after a long flight.
Very good stays at the Westin hotel.
Love the location, staff, condition, cleanness and view from my room 4302!
Busy hotel with the check in on the 51st floor. Mildly confusing layout of different elevators that grant access to different floors. Nice rooms and quiet nights above the hustle and bustle of a busy and vibrant city. Lounge stated that they had no red wine despite walls of bottles in view in the halls. Weird. The restaurants upstairs are good.
