A characterful hotel, with a very well kept gardens, and a sparkling swimming pool.
Pros:

I really liked this place. I was using it as a waiting place while I tried to re-arrange travel home due to disruption in the middle east. The old house [155 years old] was really characterful and I enjoyed its old world charms. I didn't go in the newer block behind the swimming pool but that looked good too - perhaps with more spacious rooms. I really enjoyed the swimming pool which was a few yards from my room, through the superbly maintained tropical garden. Breakfast was good - in particular the Sri Lankan omelettes. The staff were friendly and efficient. While it is not on the beach top - as other places I have stayed at in the area have been - the walk is so short as to make that irrelevant - about 2 minutes. A few people have mentioned the proximity to the train track as a downside but I really liked it. While I loved the quietude of the setting when dozing in my planters' chair I also quite enjoyed the interruption of the odd passenger train rolling past. It provided interest.

Cons:

Nothing at all. Its true that personally I wouldn't recommend the restaurant for dinner, but they do an excellent breakfast, and there are lots of beach top eateries very nearby, plus an Indian Restaurant less than 200m away.

Perfect stay to relax and enjoy the Beach and Pool!
Pros:

Its the Perfect Place to relax, enjoy the sun at the Pool or at the Beach ( just 4min walking)
The stuff is super friendly and helpful.

Ulkoisesti yksi kauneimpia hotelleja joissa olen käynyt. Tilava huone. Suurikokoinen uima-allas kauniissa puutarhassa. Ystävällinen henkilökunta. Aamupala ok.

Cons:

Huoneet olivat likaiset ja perusteellisen siivouksen tarpeessa. Tahroja pinnoilla, likaa esimerkiksi verhoissa. Pyyhkeet ja vuodevaatteet olivat pinttyneessä liassa ja niissä oli reikiä. Kylpyhuoneet kaipaisivat kipeästi remonttia. Kylpyhuoneen kaapista löytyi tarvikkeita jotka näyttivät siltä, että niitä on käytetty huumeiden käyttämiseen.

Good stay in Bentota near the beach
Pros:

The facilities, the kindness and service of the staff, the extensive and good breakfast. The beaches are very nearby.

The staff were responsive.

Cons:

The property is not value for money at all. The rooms were very basic. They need a lot of update. The doormats were torn. The towels were stained. Essentially, needs a massive rehaul.

A very relaxing comfortable stay with extremely friendly and helpful staff who kept me well stocked up with bottled water,tea,coffee,sugar and powdered milk.A very nice balcony over the swimming pool with great views of the hotel grounds,the pool too was fantastic!breakfast was not self service,nice fruit platter to start with plenty of toast and either a choice of omelette or fried egg with sausages.Only had one evening meal over my duration which was very nice.Hotel also ran a very handy/on time airport shuttle taxi.Location was very close to the beautiful beach and two very nice restaurants but around a mile outside of Bentota.

Super location with a pristine beach across the road
Pros:

Property is well located, but touching the railway tracks (this also makes it difficult for bigger vans in approach crossings). Pristine beach just 2 mins away (crossing tracks and road). Room was excellent, much bigger than the photos suggested, pool was ample sized and clean. Delicious veg Sri lankan breakfast was provided too.

Cons:

Minor issue but booking price should include all taxes and service charges. Final price paid was after including 10% service charge. Another smaller point for me, the railway crossing always shows red light (so invariable we cross the red light).

Beautiful location with great amenities and wonderful staff. The Sri Lankan food was really tasty!
Pros:

It was nice to be out of the hustle and bustle of Bentota. Across the road was a beautiful stretch of beach that was not busy, along with great beach clubs and restaurants.
Included breakfast was always delicious (fresh juice, fruits and either English or Sri Lankan breakfast) and the restaurant was excellent for dine in lunch and dinner despite a small menu.
The staff were wonderful, very thoughtful and kind. Their recommendations for sightseeing and booking tours such as a river safari was good value and excellent experiences.

Cons:

An option for a room freshen such as sweeping the room or fresh towels would have been nice.

Un très jolie petit hôtel pour passer un moment calme

Le personnel était au petit soin.
Ils possèdent un tuctuc qui peut vous amener ou vous le souhaitez pour des tarifs dérisoires

Cons:

La salle de bain mériterait un sérieux rafraîchissement. En effet la paroi de douche était brisé et les visseries étaient toutes rouillées. Les toilettes ne s’évacuait pas très bien.

Best place to stay in Bentota.
Pros:

Lovely, old worldly, building (Sinhalese Manor House).
Lovely old period furniture. Didn't try the pool (reined every day!)
Train track just outside the front gate.

Cons:

Mosquitos, but they are everywhere in the Island!
