Room excellent food very good everything a pub hotel should be and rarely is well done everybody
A really nice hotel rooms are modern large and clean with nice views. Staff are all very nice. The menu was a bit limited but beautiful food.
This is a fantastic pub with a stylish set of rooms separate from the main building.
Fantastic views.
Such a nice little gem outside of London as a stop if you’re travelling through or a base if you’re exploring the eastern countryside.
The food was particularly delicious and the generous portion sizes will not leave anyone disappointed.
We endeavour to return :)
As the hotel location information (map and local access info) was about the King's Arms in Colchester town on the Hotels.com website, I initially went there where I was told that I was at a wrong King's Arms and that they did not have any rooms. The King's Arms I had booked turned out to be the one 40-minute bus ride away from Colchester town. The correct King's Arms was a nice place to stay offering great food. My room was fine in size and very clean but adjusting the shower was a little tricky and there was nowhere to hang/put my clothes. And the pub guests talked just outside my room occasionally during the night--was not too bad as the pub closes at 10pm.
Great helpful staff great location amazing food
We stayed for one night in the family room which was spacious, well equipped and comfortable. Breakfat in the morning is highly recommended.
Fanatic pub / hotel , modern clean rooms , and a great restaurant and bar.
A very nice stay. Room was very comfortable and the food was amazing. All staff were very friendly. Will be staying again next time i am in the area.
Very surprised about the great standard of this place. Great value
Nice place, lovely rooms, would stay here again. The dinner menu was limited, especially for veggies, only one starter and one main course.
This was a fantastic place to stay, I would highly recommend staying.
The food is amazing and a very friendly place.
Great place, staff are lovely, very clean and good food
Would highly recommend if you have a dog as the Kings Arms is really dog friendly and has a great outdoor space and lovely beer garden. I loved the way we were provided with a dog bed, bowls and treats for the dogs on arrival. A great find and would definitely stay again.
Nice place nice friendly staff, in a nice area
The cheap rooms could be a little better for the money. And there’s a bit of road noise if your a light sleeper
Great breakfast
First night there was a lot of noise from busy road and bar below (although it was mainly our wedding crew) but when we asked to move the 2 nd night they were VERY obliging and that room (8) was amazing. Food very good. (Dinner and breakfast) staff very friendly and all pleasant.
Our was ideal for 4 day stay. The room was clean and large enough for the kids on the sofa and my wife and I in the master. There was plenty of parking. The Pub is nice and the service for breakfast, lunch and dinner was very nice. Everyone was super friendly.
good food, good staff, bit to close to the road re noise.
Very pleasant and accommodating
Made to feel very welcome room was amazing and beautiful view. Food was excellent. An added touch to the rooms was a robe for guests to use in the bathroom
