Very quiet and quaint stay. Low key and very relaxing
We liked everything. Maybe black out curtains for the room but that’s it.
My new home away from home. Loved it so much I cannot wait to go back. I will be planning my vacations around that beautiful hotel and stuff

The location is the best in the world. Right on Camino Del Mar with a view of the Pacific Ocean. The rooms are beautiful, and kind of funky and old and a little bit falling apart. Parking is a breeze, the people are nice, and they put out coffee and fruit in the morning and invite their guests into the common spaces.
For me, it’s a very easy and comforting place to stay if you don’t mind a bit of gentle dilapidation.
I’ve stayed here eight or 10 times and I love it.
Probably my attitude. California is in the middle of an aberrant October heat wave, and the room faces due west and it was hot. Obviously this is beyond anyone’s control.
The only good thing was being close to my class's and a partial view of the ocean.
The whole experience including the staff attitude, even basic facilities such AC, bed, lights, etc were below standard.
A friend joined me the second night and the futon was made extra comfortable for her. The hair dryer died and I was given a replacement right away. I mostly walked while in Del Mar and the location was great! Loved the balcony/patio area attached.
The only thing that I noticed was a musty smell in bathroom. Wasn’t too fond of the black fixtures in shower area.

The location and views of the ocean were absolutely incredible! And the exterior and courtyard of the building were charming. The bed was comfortable as well.
Room cleanliness left a bit to be desired, cobwebs were visible and the walls could have used a good scrub and a repaint. Because of this, we chose not to get into the hot tub, but as a former owner of one, we realized quickly that the water level in the tub was down about 10 inches and the top of the filter exposed, leading us to believe it was either not maintained or there was a leak. At first, the fountain outside our room was lovely, but as night wore on, it was more annoying than calming because it was the only thing we could hear. Coincidentally, I had a nightmare that involved being rushed by flood waters. LOL
The layout of the room with the private feel. The bed was realllly comfy. Glad it had air conditioning! Our suite had a private hot tub which is so cool. Parking was easy and free. The cozy feel of the place and that it wasn't a fancy polished hotel was just what we were after.
Very dated decor and overall tired feeling of the hotel. A few small upgrades could go a long way. Couldn't find any drinking water on site had to buy some. While we weren't looking for fancy, the feeling that a place is cared for matters.

the property looks tired and beat up. the rooms are kept clean but the paint, dents, worn out wood floors etc remind me of a college dorm room meets hostel. rustic charm for sure but needs about $300K upgrade in paint, landscaping, property cleanup in general to be a boutique hotel. bathroom tub had broken off tile around it so we didnt use it. bed was very comfortable. I hate complaining but I guess I still am a bit hah.
It didn’t really feel like a hotel but it felt like my own house. I felt like I was at home the whole time! I love this place! Everything was clean and comfortable. I really loved all the different decor and styling of the place. It’s a very unique place to stay at. You don’t really find places like this too often.
