Location was ideal for us as we use it as an overnight stop for our cycling trip around Lake Biwa. Decor was a bit dated. Breakfast spread was good.

Room did not live up to standard
The property is good for solo traveler, couple and family. Hot spring in East is clean and relax for body. You can choose to stay in the room for whole night with a pot of green tea, or enjoy good beef in dining area.

Dated and onsen not very pretty. More swimming pool like. Also not so much freebies like other onsen hotels.

Better call them to book shuttle bus
my booking.com confirmation did not specify which of two hotels I was booked for. we arrived at West and they gave us a room. while at dinner, the hotel staff informed us we were booked at East. they were very nice and allowed us to stay.
the location is breathtaking. the Onsen was lovely. the restaurant was a surprise - it was an amazing buffet. truly a wonderful experience.
there was confusion with the reservation.
