Tiny room but likely typical for Tokyo.

My sister and I stayed at Ueno Hotel for 10 days—the staff was extremely friendly and helpful and I had no problem speaking with them in English. The room itself is on the smaller side but we could fit a carry on and two checked in bags in our room with enough space to spare for walking around. One thing that did catch us off guard is that the hallways are open-air, a bit different from hotels in the US but it was not a problem for us. The location is also super prime as it’s close to the station and the park, will definitely be booking a stay here again if I come back to Japan!

I stayed in an 2 queen bed type room with its own private outside tub. I absolutely liked the room. I would've loved to see some black out curtains available. Mornings were very bright. Difficult to sleep in with the rooms brightness level without curtains.
I thought it was odd that they was two seperate buildings, yet it wasn't a deal breaker. I enjoyed staying here. Be warned that the street is very noisy at night and even though the area looks like if it's not safe to walk around at night, its very safe. Many women on the street at night. Idk about the area being family friendly after dark with all the bars and womenon the street. In tbe opinion of 2 single guys, we absolutely loved the convenience of having a variety of bars, food, outside markets, convenience stores, and transportation options so close by. I would stay here again.

Ueno Hotel wasnabout a 10 min. Walk to Ueno station, along the way are some good spots to eat like Yoshinoya, and convince store for snacks and Bento Box. The staff was friendly, helpful and spoke english well. I walked around at night and early mornings, even hit some side road and back road and felt safe the whole time.

Host was amazing and very nice man. The property is beautiful. We used a private onsen on site which was such a nice experience. I would recommend to anyone who is coming to the area!!!

Floor is dusty and the room space is very tight; otherwise, good for its price.

Rooms were comfortable, clean, spacious (for Japan) and the Internet was fast and reliable. The beds were very comfortable. Would stay again!

Very very small rooms. If you are travelling with more than just one check-in luggage, don’t expect to be able to fit in unless you choose the bigger size rooms which will be next to the lifts where they will be very noisy.

Friendly staff, quick check in and great showers. Everything needed after a long flight to Tokyo!

Hotel is not far from Ueno station, convenience to connect to subway, JR and skyliner.

Great hotel with friendly efficient staff. Within walking distance of Ueno station and the convenience shop across the road was convenient!!
