Kenaki Lodge

We were very satisfied and we expected our stay :)

Hotel is located in the “jungle” It’s better to have a car because to the city is 1 hour walking. On the other hand your “private” beach is just in front of the hotel access the road and crossing short distance in “jungle” 2 minutes from your room.
The beach is wild, but empty with big waves, warm water also during the rain.
The owners are super friendly and kind. They prepare breakfast according to your preferences.
Room is clean quite well equipped. You’re in jungle, you should expect there are insects and bugs around.

The hostess was nice but due to having no windows it was extremely hot in the room at night. Also the owner has dogs that like to bark when anyone drove by no matter the hour. Luckily the hostess worked with us and let us cancel our reservation to find a more quiet place that had windows and ac.

It was a great stay. I think initially after a day of travel we were jarred by the lack of ac but honestly you adjust easily. The host was very friendly and helpful. A very calm relaxing stay, nice place to go to if you truly want to detach from regular life.

Isabelle et Roberto sont très sympas. Leurs petits déjeuners maisons sont excellents et très consistants, avec notamment le plat local composé de riz et de haricots rouges. Leur jardin est un parc à lui tout seul que Roberto peut vous faire découvrir si vous en avez la curiosité. Les nombreux arbres fruitiers attirent toutes sortes d’oiseaux tropicaux que vous tenterez d’apercevoir dans les parcs nationaux. A ne pas rater si vous faites étape à Cahuita.

It was quiet and comfortable. The charm of the room made the stay very relaxing. We didn’t miss not having a television. The internet was slow so don’t expect to get any work done if you planned on working instead of enjoying the nearby beach.

Flott beliggenhet 100 meter fra en strand hvor vi aldri så noen andre. Litt halvslitne rom, men fint nok - senga knirket noe voldsomt. Hadde ikke kjøleskap på rommet, men kunne bruke det på felleskjøkkenet, 50 meter unna, så det funket greit. Vær forberedt på å bli vekket av brølapene i trærne utenfor ved soloppgang i 5-tiden. Nærmeste spisested ligger 1,5 kilometer unna, 20 minutters gange på en grussti gjennom skogen. Evt kjører man inn til Cahuita på 6-7 minutter. Bra wifidekning på terrassen, dårlig på rommene.

Well this is my first time on that side of Costa Rica and my overall opinion of the property was OK the hot water worked and neither one of our rooms and nobody seem to care to fix it the breakfast was a little bit pricey most places include a free breakfast The beach was black sand not a very pretty beach no stores are close by and the walk to town is a good one I probably cannot stay there again due to the fact that it was too far from anywhere to eat but for the price it wasn’t bad the owner was a friendly lady

Gens accueillants et chaleureux, accommodants, belle grande chambre, dormir au son de la mer et dés animaux sauvages, belle occasion de s’immerger dans la vie réelle du Costa Rica. Excellent déjeuner copieux avec produits locaux. Belle grande plage privée. Nous le recommandons fortement pour les amoureux de la nature et de la tranquilitée.

The breakfas was included but never get the breakfast, because the owners are not there to make the breakfast they are walking on the beach and don't care about serving the breakfast, second the ceiling fan in the room are VERY VERY dirty see photos, it is not good for the price for this place the price is not more than $60 max...I want add photos of the ceiling fan here but it not work ...
But it is REALLY VERY DIRTY

Séjour agréable, lodge bien situé en bord de plage et très tranquille. Difficile à trouver toutefois si on ne vient pas directement de Cahuita.
Petit déjeuner copieux avec jus de fruits frais .

Me agrado pero la cama es muy mala, por el precio esperaría un colchón de mejor calidad es muy malo e incómodo se puede se pueden sentir las tablas. El lugar es muy lindo pero creo que a los cuartos les falta privacidad. La atención es increíble y súper amables.

Across the street from the beach.

L emplacement est tres chouette en face d une plage sauvage et deserte. Helas les logements nécessiteraient une remise en états, tout est vieillissant, les litteries sont en mauvais états. La promiscuité des chambres et du logement des propriétaires crée un environnement bruyant.

Excellent séjour de 2 nuits au Kenaki Lodge. Isabelle et Roberto sont des hôtes aimables et passionnés par leur travail. L’hôtel est très bien situé : face à la plage et très arboré. Les petits-déjeuner sont faits main, de saison et d’une grande fraîcheur.

This place was the worst. The bed was so bad my back aches the next day, you can literally see the springs through the thread bare linens. The blankets were so used, I wouldn’t expect my dog to sleep on them. We came back one afternoon to termite waste on our bed, it was more than we could take. We happily walked away from the entire weeks pre-payment with no regrets. We use VRBO all the time, and this was without a doubt the worst place we have ever stayed at.

El servicio del personal es excelente, lo q hizo la estadía muy bonita para toda la familia. La ubicación es excelente, a pasos de Playa Negra (25 metros).

La razon principal para no calificar este Hotel como excelente es el la falta de privacidad en los cuartos, ya que lo q los divide son simples cortinas y hacia falta un mejor equipamiento en los utensilios de cocina.

Teniendo en cuenta las altas temperaturas y alta humedad en el caribe de Costa Rica, tener aire acondicionado adicional estaria acorde al precio q se paga actualmente y haria la estadía un rotundo 100.

Si bien el WiFi nunca funcioni, y como lei anteriormente el desayuno no es muy variado, el lugar es impecable. Desde la limpieza hasta el trato del personal. Nos quedamos 5 noches y si bien es demasiado para lo ofrece Cahuita, no nos arrepentimos. Excelente Kenaki Lodge

Beautiful setting, including their own sloth! Friendly and helpful people. Very cool turtle hatchery.

La cabaña es muy amplia y cómoda, rodeada de naturaleza. Los dueños son muy amables. La zona en general es muy caliente y húmeda por lo que se requiere de un buen ventilador (aire acondicionado casi no manejan en la zona), desafortunadamente el de nuestra habitación no funcionaba y al ser un lugar tan alejado de la capital no pudieron mandarlo a arreglar.
