Good experience generally. Nice hotel & good location. Bathrooms excellent.
Some confusion as our booking said private balcony in a budget room. Apparently they don't exist, budget rooms don't even have windows!
No so happy with their service too expensive. Nothing for the price i paid rm110 + another rm35 for nothing. I will never recommend this Hillview inn to anyone. Regret checking in.
The room door doesn’t have secure lock. The bathroom’s ceiling has leaking water and no clothes hanger.
Nice and friendly staff, they welcome motorbike rider
and give us safety spot to park our motorcycle thank you hillview
Nice basic stay
The hotel was very nice and staff quite friendly and helpful but would leave you to your self to come and go. They have lovely room options some with balconies. Meals can be had on site. It reminded me of a days gone by Irish bnb I stayed in as a child. The location is ideal. Very close to the main drag but tucked up a hill just enough to be quiet. They offered tours and bus arrangements although l did not utilize this benefit. Had a simple breakfast which was a meal l couldn't find anywhere else in such a peaceful setting. This is a good deal for solo or family travellers.
Value for money. The operators take good care if the place.
Nice reception, friendly and approacheable. Quick check-in. Bathroom water flow too small, difficult to adjust a comfortable water temperature for showering. Water supply at washh basin could have hot and cold water as well since the place is cold in the mroning.
Rooms are small. The doors are paper thin so noise levels are quite high. We were there during the weekend, and were kept up by families with children that were making loud noises until 2 am.
Convenient & quiet location, friendly staff, decently priced breakfast.
Shoes off! Take pictures of the foliage on your way in. I didn't stick around for breakfast, but this property is centrally located, and is a 100m walk from a set of legit Malay food stalls where you can get your nasi lemak early.
Strong wifi, hot water, clean sheets, lovely property.
Close to tourist attractions in Tanah Rata and within walking distance to shops and eateries. Nice quiet place. Limited parking space, front desk assist in finding one.
The inn is near to the tanah rata town, within walkable distance. Facilities are reasonable, there is clean hot and cold water supply. Breakfast is awesome with slightly higher charges... overall stay is pleasant!
The location of Hill view inn is excellent. It's very close to tourist information center where the bus stops in cameron highlands. From the balcony of our room, we can see the mountain view and experience the breeze of the wind from the forest. It's distant from the main road so it's a quite place. The breakfast was delicious and the price was cheap. With regards to cleanliness, the room, towel, toilet and common area were clean. I saw people cleaning the stairs & inside plants with wet cloth Everyday. Only thing is the bedsheets are quite old and I think need to be replaced. The staff are very polite and hospitable.
Nice basic hotel in the area of Tanah Rata, ideal location near the bus terminal and a number of restaurants. Good value for 2 nights stay in the area, did not have high expectations considering the price I paid, main thing was the room was clean and somewhere I could freshen up in.
Great location, nice cafe at the hotel. Fair price and good quality food.
The hotel is extremely basic.
A room, a tiny bathroom, that's about it.
It's in a good location to base yourself in to see the tea plantations, but you won't want to spend much time in the hotel itself.
The inn needs to be renovated. It looks nice on the outside with nice landscaping but once you get into the room (i paid 3 star pricing mind you) you will realize that there is a lot lacking. Firstly there is no air-conditioning. When you close the door and windows at night when sleeping there is no way for fresh air to recirculate. Then the shower was really pathetic. Water pressure was very low and the water from the shower was mostly gravity driven. The plumbing was also very noise and I could not sleep well.
I was also surprised that we we not allowed to wear shoes from the start of the staircase to our rooms. I froze my feet entering the bathroom! When we left we tried to say goodbye to the person at reception but he was not even looking. Security is also non existence. And NO TV in the room!
Upon arriving to Hillview, we were greeted by a very friendly guy at the reception counter. We given a brief intro the hotel facilities, and the available tours in the area. The hotel itself is more like a home run by a family, which is a good thing as it gave it more of a homely feel. The kitchen staff were super friendly and got to know us. I only had 2 issues with the hotel... 1) The Wi-fi did not work at all for me, and was not available in the rooms even though my booking said it was included. 2) My room had a very bad moldy odour. I didn't bother complaining though because I was outside most of the days, but it would have made my experience better otherwise. I would definitely stay here again if I come back to Cameron Highlands :)
Very nice colonial style building turn hotel. However the hotel name plate in green is obviously the wrong color n style foreign to the colonial black and white design of the house.
