The Fountain Tavern

The owners/hosts were very friendly and helpful; room was nice and comfortable. It really is a rom over the pub, which was cool, and there were no noise issues at all.

The staff were friendly. Our room was clean and comfortable. The only downside was we had paid for breakfast, unbeknown to us however it was no longer being made available to guests. A refund was given in lieu .

Hotel was very nice and clean, friendly staff very helpful nothing was to much trouble and only a five minute walk to town centre and ten minutes walk to water front and train station .
Had a good few dsys thereat hotel and will be going back

Raymond and staff were great, very helpful with local knowledge. You are above a tavern, the local clientele are wonderful to chat with, sing with and generally have a great time! Excellent breakfast as well, more than you can eat!

Despite being above a pub, the room was quiet and comfortable with a rather nice view. Everyone was helpful and kind. Agood experience all around.

We stayed here for 3 days during the heatwave, weather was gorgeous but room was unbelievably HOT one tiny fan made no difference whatsoever !! twin room was very small and we both felt a bit claustrophobic, window catch was broken and had to 'prop' things in there to keep it open, bathroom smelt of drains the whole time we were there, shower kept over-flowing...probably due to a blocked drain !! NO food other than a pre-bookable Sunday roast, and no Rose' wine !! Lot of money...for not a lot, plus it is a hike back uphill every time you go out...won't be staying again :-(

The Fountain Tavern gave my friend and I a very warm welcome. We stayed there on route to the Scillies and we have recommended the Tavern to friends. The room was spacious and very clean, we were given a bottle of water with the room along with the usual drinks. Beds were very comfortable and after a long journey were very welcome. We were able to bring our take out evening meal back to the Tavern were a table was set up for us in the quieter part of the dining area. This was excellent and we were encouraged to enjoy the atmosphere with the locals. Nothing was too much trouble for Sally and the staff.

we booked for three nights on a room only basis, very pleased with the standard and cleanliness. We found the owner very helpful with local amenities and places to visit.

Nice pub ‘B&B’ at the top of the town. Great location to walk into town and get about in general. Hosts very hospitable. Clean, tidy rooms. Not the Ritz but everything you need for a few days get away. Would definitely go back.
